    1. Overview The Superstar 3900 OLED is a standard Superstar 3900 with a microprocessor controlled modification board and replacement OLED display fitted.     2. Operation overview Two operating modes are possible, VFO (frequency) and CHANNEL which is selected by the +10kHz switch. The selected operating mode is briefly displayed on the frequency display when the switch is changed. The correct channel and band is displayed automatically as the frequency is changed making identification of the frequency simple.

    Channel Mode In channel mode, the rig operates in a traditional manner with 6 bands of 40 channels selectable by the band selector and tuning with the fine and coarse control. In this mode the frequency step indicator is not shown as per the image below: 2.2.1 Available operating bands In channel mode, 6 bands are selectable including the UK 27/81 band with correct channel and frequency readout.

    Receive Scanning The scan feature allows you to locate active frequencies in either current band segment or across the full frequency range. 2.4.1 Start scanning To begin scanning, slowly turn up the squelch control clockwise until the background noise disappears. Next slide the SCAN switch up to start the scan operation. 2.4.2 Scan direction Scanning starts in the up direction when activated however moving the channel selector counter clockwise will change the scan direction to down.

    BLEEP operation The roger bleep is enabled by sliding the BLEEP switch to the UP position.
