Press direct search buttons "4" then "0".

button to turn the "SPACE" indicator off.

Procedure for Manual Edited Recording
1.
Load the disc and wait for the total number of tracks and total
playing time to appear on the display.
Press the EDIT button.
Press the CLEAR button.
The bracket(s) start flashing.
To record without the auto space function, press the AUTO SPACE
button to turn the "SPACE" indicator off.
Program the desired tracks. See "Programming Procedure".
The brackets indicate which tracks are programmed.
if bracket is lit: Track programmed.
If bracket is flashing: Track can fit onto tape.
If bracket is off: Track cannot fit onto tape.
Once the tracks to be recorded on side A are set, the "SIDE A"
indicator switches to "SIDE AB".
Tracks which do not fit on side A are recorded on side B.
Note that the program is cleared if the EDIT button is pressed
after the program is set.
Press the CD REC button to begin FCRS recording.

First tune in the station and adjust the recording level. See "Ad-
justing the Recording Level".

if the TUNER
REC button is pressed during recording, a blank
space of approximately 5 seconds is created and the deck is set
to the pause mode. Press the TUNER REC button again to resume
recording. Use this function to cut out narrations, commercials,
etc.
Use Deck 2. (Recording starts in the forward direction.)
However, if the DIRECTION MODE switch is set to the 4. position,
recording continues on Deck 1 after the tape in Deck 2 reaches the end.
1.
Press the TUNER REC button to start recording when the program
you want to record begins.
To cut out narrations, commercials, etc.: (Fig. 44)

Tocreate a blank space of over 5 seconds, hold the TUNER
REC
button in for the desired amount of time. The pause mode is set
when the button is released.
To pause without creating a blank space, press the Deck 2 PAUSE
button.
To resume recording, press the PAUSE button once again.
To cancel the recording mode, press the Deck 2 STOP button.
