• If no leaks are found during your check, proceed with next step.
• Always use the electronic ignition button to ignite the Lighter.
• DO NOT USE MATCHES OROTHER TYPES OF LIGHTERS TO
IGNITE THE LIGHTER.
• At the initial lighting, flame blow-out is possible until the proper mixture
of propane to air is achieved, this should only take a few moments.
• Flame blow-out is also possible when the Flame nozzle is held too
close to the ground or in windy conditions.
• Do not place your hand or any part of your body in the path of the
nozzle while lighting or operating the Lighter.
• Install two AAA batteries into the battery compartment, observing the
correct polarity.
Lighting:
1. Turn orange control knob counter-clockwise ¼ turn.
2. Engage Safety Trigger by first moving the lever upwards
before squeezing the Safety Trigger.

4. Press the orange Electronic Ignition Button to ignite, using your other hand.
NOTE: The Safety Trigger travels only a small distance to open. Once you hear flowing gas, the Safety
Trigger is properly engaged and the Lighter is ready to ignite. Adjust the control knob to obtain the
desired amount of flame.
Use extreme caution at all times. You are using an intense open flame. This Lighter produces an extremely
hot and nearly invisible flame. DO NOT use the Lighter in the presence of combustible materials.
NEVER use charcoal starter fluid on your fuel along with this lighter. Fuel must be clean and dry.
• NEVER use Lighter in or around flammable fumes, liquids, or explosive materials.
• Do not cover or block the air inlet holes in the lighter handle.
• Propane is heavier than air which can cause it to accumulate in low areas. Be certain all areas are well
ventilated.
• Propane has a distinct ODOR. If you smell it, IMMEDIATELY extinguish all flames, locate the leak and
correct it. Ventilate area before reigniting the Lighter.
• Disregard of safe practices can result in severe fire damage, personal injury, or possible death.
• NEVER direct the Lighter flame toward any person or animal.
• NEVER modify this Lighter or components in any way.
• Do Not Use For Space Heating.
• Release the operating lever and turn the control knob clockwise to the off position.
• Wait until the flame is completely extinguished. The flame may continue to burn a few seconds until all gas
is purged from the tubing.
• Remove the cylinder from the Charcoal Lighter body by rotating it counter clockwise.
• Note that the Lighter nozzle is hot. Rest the Lighter on a non-combustible surface to allow the Lighter to
cool before placing the Lighter in storage. Allow a minimum of 30 minutes for the Lighter to cool.
• Replace the plastic caps on the Lighter body and on the gas cylinder.
• Never attempt to store the Lighter while it is hot.
• When the Lighter is stored indoors, or outdoors, remove the propane cylinder from the Charcoal Lighter.
• The LP gas cylinder must be stored in accordance with Chapter 5 of ANSI/NFPA 58, the standard for storage
and handling of liquefied petroleum gases.
• Do not store the Charcoal Lighter in locations where it may become damaged.
• It is the responsibility of the owner of the Charcoal Lighter to follow all local, state, and federal laws when
disposing of the used or empty propane cylinder.
• Remove batteries if storing for an extended period of time, such as over the winter.
