8 Channel Video Receive Unit with up to 8 Bi-directional
Data and Audio Channels for CWDM
The AMG4788A-CWDMn is a standalone eight channel video receive unit designed to receive 8 video
signals and transmit and receive up to 8 data or audio signals over two singlemode optical fibres.
External CWDM Couplers may also be used to combine the two optical wavelengths onto a single
fibre.
The 8 data/audio channel interfaces, whether RS232, RS422, RS485, 20mA, TTL, Contact Closure,
Lonworks or Audio, are defined at manufacture by the addition of daughter boards fitted onto the Data
Expansion Board A.
The AMG4788A-CWDMn is designed to be powered using an AMG2003 standalone power supply.
The AMG4788A-CWDMn is designed to operate with AMG4787A-CWDMn or rackmount equivalent
AMG4787AR-CWDMn eight channel video transmit unit in a point to point configuration.

For CWDM wavelengths 11-14, ITU-T G652C or D fibre is recommended. Optical Connection The AMG4788A-CWDMn is connected as illustrated below when used with an AMG4787A-CWDMn 8-channel transmit unit acting as a point to point system. Alternatively, the AMG4787A-CWDMn and AMG4788A-CWDMn may be interconnected with additional system units operating at different optical wavelengths on the same fibre using external couplers. -

The AMG4788A-CWDMn and rackmount equivalent AMG4788AR-CWDMn sends and receives data in one bank - Bank A. Bank B is not used. The physical interface is determined by the fitting of AMG data or audio daughter boards onto the appropriate data expansion board slots. -
