1.3 Using the V-Touch AFAD Touchscreen Controller Before using the V-Touch AFAD, the Ver-Mac units must be installed on the job site. Refer to the Operation, Safety and Maintenance Manual of your units by scanning the corresponding QR code sticker to display it directly on your electronic device.

MAN-13 V-Touch AFAD Never use a sharply pointed plastic or any metal object. Remove any smudges and fingerprints with a soft cloth. If there is no touchscreen activity for approximately 5 minutes, the Touchscreen Controller goes into sleep mode to conserve power and restores password security.
V-Touch AFAD 2 Connection to the V-Touch AFAD Before using the V-Touch AFAD, the Ver-Mac units must be installed on the job site. Refer to the Operation, Safety and Maintenance Manual of your units by scanning the corresponding QR code sticker.
2.2 V-Touch AFAD Versions The V-Touch AFAD software version number can be found on the access level selection screen, below the User and Admin options (see Figure 2-1). There are two versions, one with the radio option (1.0.x) and one without (2.0.x).
The Language Selector menu is where you can change the language of the interface. For the language change to take effect, after you have changed the language setting, you must power OFF and then power ON the V-Touch AFAD again. User’s Manual...

MAN-13 V-Touch AFAD 3 Operation Using Version 2.x Once you have logged in with the Administrator profile, on the Home screen, a representation of the unit in Deploy mode is displayed. Figure 3-1 Home screen in Deploy Mode The Deploy mode is activated to prevent injuries to the operator during deployment of the Flagger- Mac unit.
Units. To start signaling operation: 1 Tap Play ( ) and activate the operation mode on the V-Touch AFAD touchscreen controller. The Activate Flagging Type dialog is displayed. 2 Tap Solo or Duo Radio to choose your operation mode. Once the activation is done, the wireless remote is operational.
MAN-13 V-Touch AFAD 3.2 Solo Mode In Solo mode, a flagger only controls the gate, or gates, associated with its remote control. In this scenario, 2 AFADs cannot communicate with each other, which implies that there is no anti-conflict mechanism activated.
MAN-13 V-Touch AFAD To use the Flagger-Mac in Solo mode, with one flagger per AFAD: 1 Tap Play and select Solo. The unit gate lowers. 2 Remove the remote control from the container and close the lid. You do not need to use the V-Touch to operate the gate.

Once paired, the units remain paired, even when they are tuned off. You pair the AFAD units from the V-Touch AFAD touchscreen controller, on the Options screen. The V-Touch is operated from the controller box of the Flagger-Mac Lite unit or in the storage box of the AFAD unit.

4 Features of Version 2.x of the V-Touch AFAD This chapter presents the features and functionalities available for Administrators in version 2.x of the V-Touch AFAD. Before the V-Touch can be used, the unit must have been deploy according to instructions in its Operation, Safety and Maintenance manual.

Log out from all operations. 4.2 Traffic Light and Gate Timings You can change the programmed light and gate timings by tapping the area where their values are displayed at the bottom of the screen.

MAN-13 V-Touch AFAD Figure 4-3 Action Time Configuration Times are as follows: The Red Clearance Time is the minimum period during which the light is red to clear the zone. It is not possible to open an AFAD during this period. The solid red light then turns on (red clearance time).
MAN-13 V-Touch AFAD When the unit is connected to JamLogic, an intrusion alarm event is logged. To turn the alarm off, tap the Options button then Edit Configuration and clear the Use intrusion check box. Repair the gate and reactivate the alarm.

MAN-13 V-Touch AFAD Option Buttons Gate configuration allows you to adjust the gate sensitivity for obstruction detection. To be performed only with the technical assistance of Ver-Mac personnel. See section 4.4.2 Gate Configuration for more information. JamLogic is the screen where you can verify the communication between the Flagger-Mac and JamLogic.
MAN-13 V-Touch AFAD Option Buttons Push Notification allows your V-Touch AFAD to send status changes to JamLogic. Radio diagnostics displays information on the status of the radio connection. When no radio is connected, values appear as unavailable. Update Firmware allows you to make updates of selected firmware.

Starting delay sets the waiting time between the command and the actual gate motion start. Timeout sets the duration of a complete gate motion. Some Ver-Mac products offer a different parameters for the gate operation. Their motor is equipped with a build-in potentiometer and limit switches.
4.4.3 JamLogic Software JamLogic is a Ver-Mac software designed to manage a fleet of traffic controllers. When used within the V-Touch AFAD, it allows you to get information from the modem and the AFAD units installed on your worksite. Figure 4-10 Gate configuration parameters...

MAN-13 V-Touch AFAD Alternate address The alternate address is the other source the V-Touch AFAD will use to set the time if the connection with the first one fails. Update frequency The frequency allows you to choose the rate of reconnection to the time source.
5 Troubleshooting Version 2.x of the V-Touch AFAD This chapter provides information on how to resolve common difficulties that users might experience while using the Ver-Mac V-Touch AFAD controller. If you cannot fin your solution please contact Ver-Mac’s technical support in section 1.1 Help and Support.
Make sure the gate was properly reinstalled after a collision. When the gate gets stuck and other possible causes such as a collision or a faulty gate open/close mechanism have been ruled out, you should check the connections inside the V-Touch AFAD.
