DRY VACUUM CLEANING
F
WARNING! WHEN “DRY” CLEANING DO NOT VACUUM SOLVENTS OR OTHER EXPLOSIVE,
p
INFLAMMABLE OR HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES, SOOT, TALCUM OR OTHER FINE POWDERS. THE USE OF
AN INCORRECT FILTER WILL INVALIDATE THE WARRANTY.
4.1.
DRY CLEANING
4.1.1. Ensure the machine is unplugged.
4.1.2. To remove motor head undo the clips on each side and lift off the head (a frame with an internal float is attached
to the underside). Ensure that main drum is clean and dry and that the dry filter is correctly fitted inside (fig. 1).
4.1.3. Replace the head onto the drum body and re-clip.
4.1.4. Connect the flexible hose to the inlet on the front of the tank and add extension tubes if required.
4.1.5. Attach the appropriate nozzle to the hose or extension tube.
4.1.6. Ensure that the cleaner is switched off (“O” position) before plugging in. Plug into the mains power supply and
switch on (“I”). The machine is now operating as an ordinary vacuum cleaner.
4.1.7. When you have completed cleaning, switch off the machine and unplug from the mains.
NOTE: To avoid motor overload, the cleaner is fitted with a thermal cut-out. When the cut-out operates the motor will
stop. In such a case disconnect from the mains power, empty the drum content and clean the filter. When the motor has cooled, the
cut-out will reset automatically. Turn on the cleaner and the motor will start.
4.2.
OPTIONAL DUST BAG
Optional dust bags are available (Sealey model number AK291). The use of a dust bag will prolong the life of the cloth filter, keep the drum
cleaner and make emptying easier.
To fit a dust bag ensure that the inlet collar of the bag is pushed fully onto the inlet socket inside the drum. It is important to ensure that the
dust bag is not filled to more than two thirds capacity. Once fitted, we recommend that before each use the dust bag is checked to ensure that
there is enough free space to collect the amount of waste to be vacuumed. To remove the bag, hold the plastic retaining ring that fits around
the inlet socket and gently pull the bag forward. Use the bag’s plastic cap to seal the inlet hole for disposal.
NOTE: Ensure that the dust bag and dry filter are removed before using the machine for wet vacuuming.
5.
WET VACUUM CLEANING
F
WARNING! WHEN “WET” CLEANING DO NOT VACUUM SOLIDS, SOLVENTS, EXPLOSIVE, INFLAMMABLE OR HAZARDOUS
p
LIQUIDS (SUCH AS PETROL, OIL, SPIRIT, PAINT, THINNER, CHEMICALS). REMOVE DRY FILTER AND DUST BAG, IF FITTED,
BEFORE USE.
5.1.
WET CLEANING
5.1.1. Ensure that the machine is unplugged at the mains.
5.1.2. Remove the dry filter and dust bag, if fitted, from the drum.
5.1.3. Make sure that the drum is clean and free from dust and dirt.
5.1.4. Replace the motor head onto the drum body and clip in place.
5.1.5. Use the flexible hose, extension tubes and nozzle as appropriate for the task, but ensure that any dirt or
dust is washed out before use.
5.1.6. Ensure that the machine is switched off before plugging in. Plug into the mains power and switch on.
5.1.7. The motor head is fitted with a float. As the waste drum fills the float rises. When the drum is full the
float will stop further suction. Switch of the machine, unplug from the mains and empty the drum.
5.1.8. To vacuum large quantities of liquid (i.e from a sink, tank, etc.) do not immerse the nozzle completely in
the liquid. Leave a gap at the end of nozzle to allow partial air inflow (see fig. 2).
5.1.9. After wet vacuuming turn the machine off and remove the plug from mains.
5.1.10. Empty the drum and then clean and dry the inside before dry vacuuming or storage.
NOTE: To avoid motor overload, the cleaner is fitted with a thermal cut-out. When the cut-out operates the motor will stop. In such a case
disconnect from the mains power and empty the drum . When the motor has cooled, the cut-out will reset automatically. Turn on the
cleaner and the motor will start.
