Introduction

The heat alarm is a device that can give off warning when the environmental temperature is between 54°C -70°C, the abnormal temperature may be caused by an actual fire. In order to evacuate right away, the device alert the dwelling of the dangerous situation. At the same time, if the device is connected to other devices, they will also give off evacuated warning.

PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS

TECHNICAL INFORMATION

Type of alarm:
The heat alarm can rapidly detect incremental temperature and absolutely meet heat level.

Heat alarm signal:
The heat alarm has a visible and acoustic signal. In standby, the LED will flash every 32 seconds to indicate normal operation. If the alarm matches other heat alarms and receives wireless alarm signal, it will run wireless alarm status. In the alarm status the frequency of LED flashing speeds up, and the heat alarm will give off a loud sound to alert occupants.

Status indicator:

1. When the alarm is running normally, the red LED will flash 1 time per 32 seconds.
2. When the battery fails or low battery is detected, the alarm will "chirp" 1 time and with a corresponding red LED flashing 1 time per 32 seconds.
3. When the unit malfunctions, the alarm will "chirp" 1 time per 32seconds.
4. When a unit is running wireless alarm status, the alarm will sound Bip - Bip - pause 1.2s, with the red LED flashing repeatedly. If the unit does not receive a wireless alarm signal within 60 seconds, this wireless alarm will stop and return to the standby mode.

Note: When the unit is in the wireless alarm status, press the test button, it will pause for approx. 10 minutes, it can still normally detect air temperature during the period, it only removes the warning tone. When the unit is running in the silence mode, the red LED will flash once every 8 seconds.

Low battery indicator: When the unit chirps 1 time per 32 seconds, press the test button, it will pause the warning tone for approx. 8-10 hours. It can still normally detect air temperature during this period, it only removes the warning tone.

Testing: Test the heat alarm to ensure proper operation once per week by pressing the test button, the heat alarm should give off a loud alarm tone.

Alarm silence mode: During the unit's alarming, push the test button, it will pause the unit alarming for approx. 10 minutes. The red LED will flash once every 8 seconds, it indicates that the heat alarm is running into the silence mode. The heat alarm will automatically reset after approximately 10 minutes. If after this period, the air temperature is still within the heat sensitivity range, the alarm will sound again. The alarm silencer mode can be repeated.
Notice: Before using the alarm silence, sure there must be a safe condition exists.

Mounting:
Designed for placement on ceiling. The heat alarm should be at least 50cm from the nearest wall.

Use the enclosed screws and plugs for installation.

POSITIONING THE HEAT ALARM

Place a heat alarm near possible fire source such as:

• Kitchen area
• Generator room
• Living room with wooden stove burner
• Garage area
• Washing and drying area
• Additional heat alarms increase your security
• Place the heat alarm where it is reachable in order to test the battery and for maintenance.
  

DO NOT INSTALL THE HEAT ALARM IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS

• At the top of high pointed ceilings or in ceiling corners or within 50cm of a wall.
• In rooms where the temperature can't exceed +4°C - +38°C

Incorrect positioning may lead to reduced reliability and false alarms.

HOW TO INSTALL YOUR HEAT ALARM

1. Press the bracket on the installation position, mark installation hole of bracket with pencil.
2. Drill two installation holes, 5mm diameter holes; insert the two plastic plugs into the holes with a hammer.
3. Attach the bracket to the plastic plugs and fix the screws into the plastic plugs (refer to Diagram)
4. Fit the alarm on the bracket and turn the alarm body clockwise, until matching well on the bracket. After mounting, test this heat alarm signal by pushing test button on the top.
   

Notice: The label in the product cannot be removed as it shows important information about the product.

REPLACING THE BATTERY

1. Turn the alarm body counterclockwise and take out the alarm body from the bracket.
2. Take out the old batteries from the battery box.
3. Fix the two new batteries into the battery box. Please note the battery polarities.
4. Fix alarm body on bracket and turn the alarm body clockwise.
5. Test heat alarm by pressing the test button. The sound pattern is Bip 0.5s - pause 0.5s – Bip 0.5s – pause 0.5s – Bip 0.5s – pause 1.5s, with the red LED flashing, repeatedly in the same pattern. If there is no sound, it means that the heat alarm is faulty, or the the battery is not installed correctly. For more information read the section "Troubleshooting".

Notice: During testing, because the unit sends the wireless signal, other heat detectors may alarm. Once release the test button, other heat detectors will stop alarming in 1 minute.

WIRELESS FUNCTION DESCRIPTION

Wireless frequency: 868MHz
Wireless distance: Obstructions such as steel reinforcement in concrete could block or impede the wireless signal. It is recommended not to exceed 35 m as the maximum distance between alarms in a network. If clear line of sight the range is > 50 meters.
Note: Make sure the battery is installed well before operating the product.

1. Multiple Same Alarms Networking
   The detectors can be interlinked with each other without using the hub or apps.
   1. Take one alarm and press the test button continuously for 3 times, The LED will light up and the alarm enter "Pairing Mode".
   2. Take another alarm, press the test button 3 times in a row, The LED light, alarm enters "pairing Mode", When hearing a high beep -> Networking success.
2. Connecting the device to the hub and app.
   1. Download the app "Housegard Note"
   2. Follow the instructions inside the app in order to register an account.
   3. Make sure that the hub works properly before you set up a network, make sure to set up a network between hub and devices within recommended distance.
   4. Connect the hub to your WiFi.
   5. Set the hub into pairing mode (refer to system quide).
   6. Quickly press the test button 3 times on the device, The LED will light up and the device enters "pairing mode". The device will add itself in the app. If connection fails, repeat step 5 and 6.

Repeat this for each alarm.

3. Clear code mode on device
   1. Take out the batteries.
   2. Press and hold the test button, then install the batteries on the alarm and the LED lights up.
   3. Do not release the button until the LED is off.
   4. Press the button again when the LED lights up second times. if you hear the sound of 'BIP', it indicates that clearing is successful. the alarm will reset and get a new random code.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PRACTICE FIRE SAFETY

For the safety of the family, an evacuation plan should be established and practiced to make sure everyone in the household knows what to do in the event of a fire.

1. Let everyone hear the siren so they know what the sound means.
2. Establish two possible exits out of the home.
3. Teach all residents to touch a door before opening it. If it is hot, DO NOT open the door. Use an alternative exit.
4. Teach all residents to crawl along the floor in order to avoid dangerous smoke/gas.
5. Establish a collection point in a safe place outside the home.

WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF FIRE

1. Do not panic; stay calm.
2. Leave the building as quickly as possible. Touch doors to feel if they were hot before opening them. Use an alternate exit if necessary. Crawl along the floor and don´t stop to collect anything.
3. Meet at a pre-arranged meeting place outside the building.
4. Call the fire department form outside the building.
5. Do not go back inside a burning building. Wait for the fire department to arrive.

Notice: These guidelines will assist you in the event of a fire, however, to reduce the chance that fires will start, practice fire safety rules and prevent hazardous situations.

Do not attempt to repair the alarm. It will affect your warranty. If the alarm is not operating properly after installation, and is still under warranty, return it to where it was purchased.
Pack it in a well-padded carton and send it back to the original store. If the alarm is no longer under warranty, replace it immediately with a comparable alarm.

MAINTENANCE

Your heat alarms should be cleaned every 3 months, using a vacuum cleaner fitted with the soft brush attachment.

Do not try to open the cover to clean inside the alarm. This will negate the warranty.

Only use specified batteries. Usage of different batteries may have detrimental effects on the alarm. A good safety measure is to replace the battery at least once a year.
