  2. Do not use cold water to cool a hot stone.
  3. Preheat the appliance with the Pizza Stone inside the appliance to heat the stone gradually.
  4. Do not remove the Pizza Stone from the appliance when hot.
  5. To prevent pizza dough from sticking to the surface of the Pizza Stone, use cornmeal, semolina, or fine polenta.
  6. Do not cut food on the Pizza Stone. Do not use oil to cure the Pizza Stone. Repeated use will season the stone naturally with oils from food.
  7. Wipe off the Pizza Stone with a damp cloth to remove any food particles. Routinely scrape off baked-on food with a plastic spatula or dry brush.
  8. Do not use detergents or scouring agents on the Pizza Stone because these can penetrate into the stone and impair the baking result the next time you use it.
  9. Never clean the Pizza Stone in the dishwasher. Do not wash the Pizza Stone with soap or submerge the stone in water.
  10. A well-used Pizza Stone typically has many dark, discolored areas. Do not try to scrub the stone to make it look new. This is a natural occurrence and it does not imply that the stone needs to be replaced.
