Check Cooling System and Refill As Required

Allow the engine to cool before releasing the radiator cap.
Make sure to loosen the cap slowly to release any
remaining pressure.
Radiator cleaning is performed while the engine is running.
Take extreme caution when working on or near a running
engine. Make sure to lock out and tag the controls notifying
personnel that service work is being performed.
Do not remove the radiator cap unless it is required.
Observe the coolant level in the coolant recovery tank.
NOTE:
Do not mix ethylene glycol and propylene glycol
antifreeze together. If the two are mixed, the
protection level will be reduced to the level of the
ethylene glycol.
1.
When the engine is cold, remove the radiator cap and
check the coolant level inside the radiator. Do not rely on
the level of coolant in the coolant recovery tank. Refill
radiator as required. Refer to coolant concentration table.
(See page 4-73)
2.
Check to make sure that the coolant transfer line from the
coolant recovery tank to the radiator is free and clear of
obstructions, or not pinched.
3.
Observe the level of coolant in the coolant recovery tank.
The normal cold engine fluid level should be between
"FULL" and "LOW" marks on tank.
4.
If the coolant is below the "LOW" mark, add coolant to this
tank.
