Configuring the Super VGA Option
* CHIPS 452 VGA 640x480 256 Color
This option changes the default of 16 colors to 256 colors. The resolution remains at
640 by 480 pixels.
* CHIPS 452 VGA 800x600 16 Color
This option increases the resolution to 800 by 600 pixels. The color option remains at
16 colors.
* CHIPS 452 VGA 1024x768 16 Color
This option increases the resolution to 1024 by 768 pixels. The color option remains at
16 colors.
4. Highlight the Super VGA option you want to use and click the OK button.
5. The program prompts you to restart Windows. Follow the instructions as given by the
prompts. The Super VGA resolution is now in effect.

Installing the Super VGA Drivers

If you did not order the Super VGA drivers with your VXIpc-486 kit, follow these steps to install
the Super VGA drivers.
1. Insert the VXIpc-486/500 SVGA Drivers Disk 1 of 3 into drive A of the VXIpc-486.
2. Change to drive A by typing the following command at the C:\> prompt in the root
directory.

3. From the A:\> prompt, type the following command.
<Enter>
setup
4. Press any key when directed by the following prompt.

5. The main menu appears. At this point you can select the appropriate graphics driver. For
instance, to install the Windows 3.1 Super VGA driver, use the cursor keys to highlight the
selection Windows Version 3.1, then press <Enter>.
6. Once you have selected a driver, a screen appears prompting you to select a video resolution
to install. The default is All Resolutions. Press <Enter> to install.
7. To install the Super VGA driver, press <End>.
8. The program prompts you to insert the remaining installation diskettes as needed. After the
installation completes, press <Esc> to exit the installation program.
9. Modify the system settings as described previously.
