TROUBLESHOOTING

Before asking for repairs, conduct your own inspection first. If you find a problem that is not explained in the manual,
do not attempt to disassemble the machine. Instead, ask Makita Authorized Service Centers, always using Makita
replacement parts for repairs.
State of abnormality
Machine does not start.
Motor stops running after a little use.
Motor does not reach maximum
RPM.
Scarifier blades do not rotate:
stop the machine immediately!
Abnormal vibration:
stop the machine immediately!

Probable cause (malfunction)
Battery cartridge is not installed.
Battery problem (under voltage)
Battery's charge level is low.
Working depth is too deep.
Cut grass is clogged in the machine.
Battery cartridge is installed improperly.
Battery power is dropping.
The drive system does not work
correctly.
Foreign object such as branch is stuck
in the scarifier blades.
The drive system does not work
correctly.
Scarifier blades are imbalanced, exces-
sively or unevenly worn.

Remedy
Install charged battery cartridge.
Recharge the battery cartridge. If recharging is not
effective, replace battery cartridge.
Recharge the battery cartridge. If recharging is not
effective, replace battery cartridge.
Set the working depth shallower.
Remove the clogged grass from the machine.
Install the battery cartridge as described in this
manual.
Recharge the battery cartridge. If recharging is not
effective, replace battery cartridge.
Ask your local authorized service center for repair.
Remove the foreign object.
Ask your local authorized service center for repair.
Replace the scarifier blades.
