5) Refill the appliance with water up to the MAX mark, and then bring it to the
boil. When done, pour this water away also.
6) Rinse the kettle out with clear water.
The appliance is now ready for use.

Boiling water

DANGER – ELECTRICAL SHOCK!
Never place the electrical base 4 close to water – this would be a
potentially fatal risk!
WARNING – RISK OF INJURY!
Always use freshly drawn water. Do not consume any water that has alrea-
dy stood in the kettle for longer than one hour. Do not reboil water that has
cooled down. Always pour old water away. Microbes could have formed
in it!
NOTE
Always ensure that the ON/OFF switch
the mains plug is unplugged and the appliance is standing on the base 4.
Otherwise the appliance could heat up unintentionally as soon as the mains
plug is plugged in again.
1) Lift the kettle off of the base when filling it!
2) Press the release button 1 and open the lid.
NOTE
When filling it, hold the kettle upright. This is the only way to read the
markings on the scale 2 correctly.
3) Fill the jug at least as far as the MIN mark, so that the appliance does not
overheat, and no more than the MAX mark to ensure that no boiling water
can spill out.
4) First close the lid, then place the kettle on the base 4, so that it sits securely
on the base 4.
5) Now insert the plug into the mains power socket.
6) Push the ON/OFF switch
WARNING – RISK OF INJURY!
For safety reasons you should not open the lid when the water is boiling or
extremely hot. There is a risk of scalding.
7) The light in the ON/OFF switch
heating up.
