4. Never connect the hook back to the cable. This causes cable damage. Always use a tree trunk protector strap or winch cable extension strap, which can be found in the TJM Recovery kit. 5. Observe the operation of the winch from the safety of the vehicle cabin. Stop the winching process every metre or so to assure the cable is not pulling up in one corner of the winch drum. - Page 5 Always wear eye protection when working around a battery. ▪ Have the engine running when using the winch, to avoid flattening the battery. ▪ It is recommended that a TJM Dual Battery System is fitted. ▪ The minimum battery requirement is 650 CCA. 14. A fully charged battery and proper connections are essential. Run the vehicle engine during winching operations to keep batteries (2) charged. -
