METAL DETECTOR SI01
FEATURES
• Two operating modes: ALL METAL and DISC.
• ALL METAL: lets you search for all kinds of metal with automatic ground balance
and high sensitivity. This is the best operating mode.
• DISC: lets you discriminate certain types of metal.
• VOLUME: lets you adjust the volume level of the speaker and earphones.
• Earphone jack: allows you to connect earphones (not supplied) to the detector.
• View meter and pointer: the meter's pointer swings to the right if metal is found.
• Waterproof search coil: lets you search for metal objects under shallow
water. Note: The search coil is waterproof, but the control box's housing is not
waterproof.
• Adjustable stem: lets you adjust the detector's length for comfortable use.
Note: Your metal detector requires one 9 V alkaline battery.
PREPARATION
ASSEMBLING THE DETECTOR
1.
1. Top stem
2. Lower stem (with search coil)
3. Control box
Assembling the detector is easy and requires no special tools. Just follow these
steps.
Middle stem
1. 1. Depress the spring clip in the middle stem and insert the middle stem into the
top stem (1), aligning the clip in the middle stem with the hole in the top stem.
Locking sleeve
2. Loosen the middle stem's locking sleeve in the direction of the arrow. Then
insert the lower stem (2) into the middle stem. Turn the stem's locking sleeve in
the reverse direction of the arrow to lock it in place.

3. Unscrew the bolt of the control box (3) and align the hole on the control box with
the hole on the top stem. Then, insert the bolt into the hole and tighten it.
Five-pin jack
4. Wind the cable around the stem. Insert the search coil cable plug into the
five-pin jack at the bottom of the control box's housing. Caution: The search coil
cable plug fits into the jack only one way round. Do not force the plug or you
could damage it.
5. When you stand upright with the detector in your hand, the search coil should be
level with and about 1–5 cm above the ground. You can lengthen or shorten the

stem based on your height.
ADJUSTING THE SEARCH COIL
Loosen the knobs at the end of the search coil, then adjust the search coil to the
desired angle. (The search coil should be parallel with the ground.) Tighten the
knobs just enough to keep the search coil from rotating or wobbling.
INSTALLING/CHANGING THE BATTERY
You need one 9 V alkaline battery to power your detector. Use only a fresh battery
of the required size and recommended type.
1. If the detector is on, turn the power off.
2. Press on the battery compartment cover and slide the cover off in the direction
of the arrow.
3. Connect the battery with the battery connector, paying attention to the polarity.
Then put the battery into the compartment.
4. Replace the cover.
Note! Always remove old or weak batteries. Batteries can leak chemicals that can
destroy electronic parts. If you do not plan to use the detector for a week or more,
remove the battery.

USING EARPHONES

You can connect a pair of stereo earphones (not supplied) to the detector. Using
earphones also saves battery power and makes it easier to identify subtle changes
in the sounds you hear. To connect earphones to the detector, insert the earphones'
3.5 mm plug into the earphone jack on the control box. The detector's internal
speaker disconnects when you connect earphones.
To protect your hearing, follow these guidelines when you use earphones:
• Set the volume to the lowest setting before you begin listening. When you begin
listening, adjust the volume to a comfortable level.
• Do not listen at extremely high volume levels. Extended high-volume listening
can lead to permanent hearing damage or loss.
• Once you set the volume, do not increase it. Over time, your ears adapt to
the volume level, so a volume level that does not cause discomfort might still
damage your hearing.
• Do not wear earphones while operating your detector near high-traffic areas.
Even though some earphones are designed to let you hear some outside sounds
when listening at normal volume levels, they still can present a traffic hazard.
