SUBWOOFER SETUP AND CONFIGURATION

The MX-10 system features a dual subwoofer configuration. It is possible to wire up a pair of subwoofer loudspeakers in the following ways:
Outputs
1
INDIVIDUAL CHANNEL
Stereo Power amplifier
4 Ohm load on the amplifier
Each channel of a stereo power amplifier is
connected to each subwoofer separately.
Note - By wiring the subwoofers in parallel, the load impedance presented to the amplifier is halved to 2 Ohms, which consequently demands
double the output current from the amplifier. Care should be taken to ensure that the specifications of the amplifier explicitly allow the increased
loading of 2 Ohms, especially when used in a bridged mono configuration. Check the amplifier manual for wiring details if a bridged mono
configuration is desired.
It is strongly recommended to run separate cabling for all channels in the Series MX system back to the central amplifier rack to permit future
flexibility with the wiring configuration.
2
Mono Power amplifier
8 Ohm load on the amplifier
Utilising a single channel amplifier in the
series configuration, both subwoofers
are wired in series across a single pair of
output terminals.
