Weighing

Main Unit Setting Procedure (The main unit needs setting when the unit is switched on for the first time after purchase after the batteries are replaced, or when the main switch is switched ON).

  1. Insert batteries, and turn the main switch ON.
    * The power will not switch on if the main switch is OFF.
  2. Place the main unit on a hard, stable surface.
  3. Step onto the scales, and ensure that more than 8kg of weight is applied to the scales. Step off when you hear a short "beep" sound. After "8888" is shown in the display and a short "beep" sound is heard, "0.0kg" is shown in the display, and the settings are complete. "0.0kg" is displayed for approximately 20 seconds, after which the power switches off automatically.
*If a long "beep" sound is heard and "Err" (error) is shown in the display, the settings have not completed correctly. Repeat the operations from 3 again.

How to Measure

  • Step onto the scales. When a weight of more than 8kg is placed on the scales, a short "beep" sound is heard, the power switches on automatically, and the scales start measuring.
  • When the measurement is complete, a short "beep-beep" sound is heard, and the measured value flashes for approximately 20 seconds in the display.
After approximately 20 seconds, the power switches off automatically.
    * After the power switches ON, if the measured value does not stabilize within 20 seconds, the power switches off automatically.

Measuring less than 8kg

  1. Apply more than 8kg of weight to the scales. A "beep" sound is heard, and the power switches ON.
  2. When the weight is removed, "0.0kg" is shown in the display. Place the object that you want to measure onto the scales.
  3. When the measurement is complete, a short "beep-beep" sound is heard, and the measured value flashes for approximately 20 seconds in the display.
After approximately 20 seconds, the power switches off automatically.
    * If the measurement object is removed before measurement is complete, the power switches off after approximately 20 seconds.

Replacing the Batteries

When the low battery sign (Lo) appears on the LCD, remove the current batteries and replace them with new set as indicated in Fig 3.

Care Instructions

  1. Be careful not to open the scale or tamper with its mechanism or circuitry. These actions will void all warranty coverage.
  2. Take care not to spill water or chemical liquids onto the scale. Wipe the scale with a damp cloth periodically.
  3. When not used for long periods of time, remove the batteries to prevent damage.
  4. Do not use this scale while operating transmitters (such as a cell phone), as this may affect your result.
  5. Do not step on the platform when wet.
  6. Do not drop any objects onto the platform.
  7. Do not let children hold lithium batteries since they are so small to be swallowed accidentally.
  8. Do not place hot or cold objects directly on the platform. Injuries may result from broken glass. This may cause further malfunctions.
  9. Turn the main switch off on the bottom of the scale when you carry it or it is not in use.
  10. Do not take measurements on the soft floor such as cork floor. This may reduce the accuracy of the measurement.
  11. The scale may make a dent in the floor depending on its material.
  12. The provided glass case is intended for storage and is not designed to completely protect the equipment from scratches, dirt, or impact.
  13. The power will not switch on unless at least 8kg of weight is applied to the scales.
  14. If the main unit is carried, has products placed directly onto it, or is stood against a wall etc. while the main switch is ON, discrepancies may occur in the measured values.
