    Handlebar STbench PC / STbench Docking Station There are two types of interfaces of STbench: the first one holds the PC, while the second one holds the Docking Station. The Docking Station is the housing of the STpad. Both PC and STpad have a touch-screen.

    The static torque transducers are designed for testing wrenches, click wrenches or for tightening tools where rotary action is not desired during measurement.     Tilting top plate The STbench can be equipped with a top plate that can be tilt with a maximum angle of 90 degrees. This configuration allows testing tools in horizontal position. Tilting top models require a different frame.

    Push the button Vertical to tilt the plate to the vertical position (90 degrees). Push the button Horizontal to tilt the plate to the horizontal position (0 degrees). In this STbench model, an additional motor moves the top plate. Two limit-switches ensure that the motor stops when the limit positions are reached.

    Motorized Cell The Motorized Cell is a torque transducer that can be installed on the STbench large frame in order to au- tomatize torque wrench tests, thus reducing the operator influence on the measurements.

  • Page 29: Battery Status Indicators And Battery Charger Switch

    Turn the Battery Charger switch to 1 to activate the battery charger. When the Battery Charger switch is turned to 1 and the STbench is connected to a power plug, the white LED placed over the Battery Charger switch is on.
  • Page 30: Ethernet Port

    15 minutes the battery is not in charge yet. In case the battery is out of charge and the STbench powers off while the operator makes a tighten- ing during a test, the result of this tightening gets lost.

    For powering on/off the STbench press respectively Start PC and Stop PC. Power Supply socket From the Power Supply socket, connect the STbench to the AC Power with the correct power supply ca- ble. Do not use the power supply if the plug, the mains cable or other parts are damaged.

    7 - PLUG PVC: KCS70-5001-85, BLACK Keyboard A keyboard is available into a small drawer placed on the front side panel of the STbench. The keyboard is useful for inserting input data into the STbench software. The keyboard has also an embedded mouse.

    To add an additional SRTT-B transducer on the bench, it is necessary to assemble the flange shown in the following figure. After assembling the flange on the top plate of the STbench, the SRTT-B transducer can be fix on the flange.

    Powering On the STbench ■ Press Start PC for powering on both the STbench with PC and the STbench with Docking Station. A green light crown around Start PC button is always on during STbench operations. In case of STbench with PC, Windows homepage appears: click QA Inspector icon to start the STbench software.

    IRC-Connect ACTA Serial cable / Ethernet cable It is possible to connect the STbench with PC with the Power Focus either with a serial cable or the Ether- net cable (see the schema above). The transducer / mechanical joint simulator / brake capacity must be compatible with the Power Focus programmed torque.

    STbench ■ The tool connected to Power Focus operates with the transducer (+existing application or mechanical joint simulator), connected to the IRC-Connect via cable.     Articulated arm - General information The Articulated Arm is a special tool that may feature the STbench in order to increase the operating range of it. It allows positioning of the brake in case the tool location is located out of the action range of the entire bench.
  • Page 38: Technical Specifications Of The Articulated Arm

    The maximum torque of the Articulated Arm is 250 N·m. DO NOT overload the Articulated Arm: it could break with possible serious injuries otherwise. Do not open the Articulated Arm while the STbench is moving: the STbench may tip over. Ensure that the locking devices of the Articulated arm are also engaged.

    The following operation MUST be performed by two people. Switch off the STbench. On the Pressure Indicator placed on the STbench main panel, check the oil pressure is equal to zero. Extend the Articulated arm in order to align it with the brake.

    Solution 2: Tighten the lever and start the test again. Cause 3: The transducer is yielded. Solution 3: Contact the local Atlas Copco Customer Center for inspecting/repairing the transducer.
