In some cases, the pump and the pumping medium may be hot
and could cause burns.
For installations in areas subject to explosion hazards, special
regulations apply!

DESCRIPTION
Mains-dependent alarm circuit for monitoring the water level
(static pressure method) in Ex-systems. Only the air bell with
air hose is located in the hazardous area.
– Alarm signal by built-in buzzer (80 dBA)
– Potential-free contacts.
– Test button for function control
– Possibility to connect a 9V rechargeable battery for
mains-independent alarm
EMC
When our standard submersible pumps and accessories
are installed as specified and used as intended, the control
units meet the protective requirements of the EMC Directive
2014/30/EU, and are suitable for domestic and commercial use
when connected to the public power supply network. If con-
nected to an industrial power supply network within an indus-
trial facility, where the power supply is provided by an in-house
high-voltage transformer, there may be insufficient immunity
to interference.
MOUNTING
NOTICE! Only qualified electricians may carry out electrical
works to pumps or controls.
Before carrying out any works: dis connect the pump and the
controls from the mains and take steps to en sure that no
one else can reconnect them to the power supply.
The relevant standards (such as EN stand ards), country-specific re-
gulations (such as VDE in Germany), and the regulations of the lo cal
power supply companies must be observed.
NOTICE! Do not install the circuit itself in explosion hazard are-
as or in the collection chamber!
The device is to be installed only in well ventilated rooms above
the backup level, where it can be easily inspected at any time.
The air hose should be laid at an uphill gradient, rising continu-
ously from the chamber to the alarm device! In some cases you
have to shorten the air hose.
The individual hose may have a max. length of 20 m.
NOTICE! The hose connections to the sensor and pressure
switch must be absolutely airtight. Use a permanently elastic
sealant to seal these connections.
Existing hoses must not be extended due to the danger of
leaks, but must be replaced with a hose in one piece.
Fasten the air hose with the sensor in the sump using the cable
holder. To release the alarm the pressure sensor must be sub-
mersed 100 mm.
The pump must only be connected to sockets that have been
installed properly in accordance with the regu lations.
Press S2 test button: Alarm buzzer must sound.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

WARNING!
Before carrying out any work: Disconnect the device from the
mains and take action to ensure that no one else can reconnect
them to the power supply.
NOTICE! Repairs and maintenance work on the control unit or
the pump must be carried out by a qualified electrician only!
Remote failure indication system
Connect the remote system to terminals 40/41 (NO) or to 40/42
(NC) on the PCB. The potential-free contacts can be loaded
with a maximum of 5 A / 250 VAC.
Emergency pump operation
Connect the basic or the peak load terminal of the pump con-
trol unit parallel to the normally open contact of terminal 44/45.
Parallel to the release of the alarm, the pumpe will be started.
Mains-independent alarm
CAUTION!
Only use the 9V-NiMh battery supplied by the manufacturer! If
dry-cell batteries or Lithium batteries are used there is a dan-
ger of explosion!
Put the battery onto the connection slot of the PCB, connect it
with the clip, and secure it with the cable clamp.
The battery secures a continiuos alarm signal of 2 hours. An
empty rechargeable battery is ready for operation within ap-
prox. 24 hours. (fully charged approx. 100 hrs.). Check the
function of the rechargeable battery at regular intervals! Re-
chargeable battery service life approx. 5 - 10 years. Note the
insertion date on the rechargeable battery - after five years
the rechargeable battery should be replaced as a precaution-
ary measure.
