- Page 6 Assembly Always unplug the appliance before you assemble. Do not attempt to use the fan until it has been fully assembled. Loosen the base locking nut from the bottom of the unit by turning it anticlockwise. Push it down the length of the power cord. Run the power cord through the central gap between the two halves of the unassembled base.
