5 About this product

5.1 Performance description

The axial piston variable pump generates, controls and regulates a hydraulic-fluid
flow. It is designed for mobile and stationary applications.
Refer to data sheets RE 92202 and RE 92203 and to the order confirmation for the
technical data, operating conditions and operating limits of the axial piston unit.

5.2 Product description

The A7VO is a variable pump with axial tapered piston rotary group in bent-axis
design for hydrostatic drives in open circuits. Flow is proportional to drive speed
and displacement. The flow can be steplessly changed by adjusting the bent axis.
For axial piston units with bent-axis design, the pistons (1) are arranged at an angle
to the drive shaft (2). The A7VO uses standard bearings and the A7VLO uses long-
life bearings. The external dimensions of the axial piston pump are identical to the
version with mechanical bearings. Long-life bearings can of course be retrospectively
installed. Long-life bearings are only available for sizes 250 to 500.
In an open circuit, the hydraulic fluid flows from the reservoir to the hydraulic pump
from where it is fed to the consumer, e.g. hydraulic motor.
From the consumer, the hydraulic fluid flows directly back to the reservoir.
