Manual as Zirkonzahn. GENERAL INFORMATION This Operator’s and Maintenance Manual is an integral part of the S600 ARTI / S900 ARTI Scanner and must be kept in a place known to the operator and easily and immediately accessible at all times. Only adequately trained personnel should handle the S600 ARTI / S900 ARTI Scanner.
The intended use of the scanner is outlined in this chapter. In this connection a hazard analysis was done on the S600 ARTI / S900 ARTI Scanner. The manufacturer does not accept any responsibility for applications not described here which do not fall within the definition of intended use.
From the moment of delivery, Zirkonzahn grants a warranty of 12 months for the equipment. If the S600 ARTI / S900 ARTI Scanner is passed on to third parties, the warranty obligation is recognized only if the passing on occurs within the set warranty period of 12 months.
Your safety comes first! Safety concept The safety concept of the S600 ARTI / S900 ARTI Scanner as well as this Operator’s and Maintenance Manual were compiled according to the requirements of the Machinery Directive 98/37/EC in force until 29/12/2009 and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC in force since 30/10/2009, as well as the European Low Voltage Directive (LVD) 2006/95/ EC.
CHAPTER 1 13 13 SAFETY / RESIDUAL RISKS SOURCES OF DANGER AND RISKS Possible sources of danger According to the safety technical hazard analysis 09/02/2009, Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC; 98/37/EC; Low voltage Directive (LVD) 2006/95/EC. - Rotating parts. - Moving parts - Front plate.
- For the pallet’s transport the use of a forklift truck is recommended. Caution when lifting! - The S600 ARTI / S900 ARTI Scanner may only be moved and put down on surfaces with suitable stability, in a dry place and in a non-corrosive environment.

CHAPTER 3 25 25 TECHNICAL DATA TECHNICAL DATA - Processing axes - Overall height 69 cm - Depth 41 cm - Width 48 cm - Weight 56 kg - Glass front plate, covering Hardened Securit Glass UNI ISO 12150 - Operating voltage 110 - 240 V - Power input 0.9 A (1.9 A)
Transport, install, connect and set up the equipment according to the aforementioned indications. Device ID plate The Device ID plate of the S600 ARTI / S900 ARTI Scanner is attached on the rear of the equipment.
Pallet 20 kg - The S600 ARTI / S900 ARTI Scanner is supplied on a pallet and encased by a cardboard box. - Do not put any object on top of the cardboard box. - Caution when removing the cardboard box (glass lining).
- Maximum relative air humidity of 75 % at 30 °C; - The S600 ARTI / S900 ARTI Scanner may only be moved and put down on surfaces with suitable stability, in a dry place and in a non-corrosive environment.
CHAPTER 4 29 29 INSTALLATION / FIRST START-UP - The leakage current is 20 mA AC; however, it can also be higher at the starting torque. - Provide a suitable alternative protective measure. - Permissible residual-current circuit breakers, Type A or B (30 mA). - The use of residual-current circuit breakers, Type AC, is prohibited! The release via a residual-current circuit breaker at the first start-up is generally a fault of the power connection, not of the device.
CHAPTER 4 30 30 INSTALLATION / FIRST START-UP CONNECTION OF THE PC 01. Connect the screen to the PC. 02. Insert dongle (Zirkonzahn.Scan), if it is not yet connected to the PC. 03. Insert dongle (Zirkonzahn.Modellier), if it is not yet connected to the PC. 04.
CHAPTER 5 33 33 OPERATION OPERATION TRAINING AND PRACTICE The training on device operation with demos of the several possibilities of application is best achieved by a CAD/CAM introductory course by Zirkonzahn. Professional handling, safety measures and the most efficient use of the scanner will be conveyed during the course.
CHAPTER 5 34 34 OPERATION OPERATION 01. Preparation of the working model: - Block out undercuts on dies with scan-wax. - Create a mushbite which will be used as antagonist. - Spray dies evenly with the Scan-Spray. 02. Check the scanner’s power supply as well as the PC’s power supply. 03.
CHAPTER 6 35 35 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE SAFETY MEASURES WHEN CLEANING THE DEVICE ATTENTION: When designing the device we assumed that all operators have a basic technical knowledge. Therefore, all cleaning and maintenance work can be easily carried out without professional help.
- Visual inspection of the equipment's interior for damages or impurity. If after inspection defects are detected, the S600 ARTI / S900 ARTI Scanner may not be used. The device must be shut down and secured against unauthorised access. For trouble shooting please contact our Zirkonzahn Support: Tel.
CHAPTER 7 37 37 REPAIRS AND TROUBLESHOOTING REPAIRS AND TROUBLESHOOTING DETECTED FAULTS If malfunctions or defects are detected during the maintenance of the device, these must be remedied before the renewed start-up, in order to ensure a trouble-free and safe operation. Defects, damages and malfunctions must be reported without delay to Zirkonzahn or to the service centres specified in your maintenance contract.
CHAPTER 7 38 38 REPAIRS AND TROUBLESHOOTING FRONT PLATE EXCHANGE Pay attention to the spring-loaded arm assembly when replacing the front plate! Replacement has to be done under the guidance of Zirkonzahn or the service centres specified in your maintenance contract.
