The mini infrared thermometer is intended for non-contact measuring of temperatures of - 35°C to + 230°C. The instrument is not suitable for industrial use.
Operate the device in dry environment only. It must be powered by CR2032 button cells or similar type.
Any usage other than described above is not permitted and can damage the product and lead to associated risks such as short-circuit, fire, electric shock, etc. No part of the product may be modified or rebuilt. Please read the operating instructions thoroughly and keep the operating instructions for further reference.
We do not assume liability for resulting damages to property or personal injury if the product has been abused in any way or damaged by improper use or failure to observe these operating instructions. The guarantee will then expire!
The exclamation mark points out important information in these operating instructions that must be strictly adhered to.
Unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the device are inadmissible because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
This device is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of children!
After rapid temperature changes, the device needs approx. 15 minutes of stabilization to accommodate to the new ambient temperature before use.
The device should not be exposed high temperature for a longer period of time.
The device should not be operated in proximity of welding machines, induction heaters and other electromagnetic fields.
Servicing, adjustment or repair works must only be carried out by a specialist/ specialist workshop.

To measure temperature, press and hold the measuring button (2) and point the probe (4) to the test object for 1 second. Make sure that the test object is larger than measuring spot. The measured temperature is the average temperature of the measured area. Distance to measuring spot ratio is 1:1.
The last measured temperature is shown on the display (3). After letting go of the measuring button (2), the display shows "Hold" and the last measured value is displayed for another approx. 15 seconds.
After 15 seconds of inactivity, the thermometer turns off automatically.
To select the desired display format (°C/°F), press the measuring button (2) until the IR-230 turns on and shows "Hold". Now press the mode button four times (5) until °C or °F blinks. Press the measuring button (2) for approx, 1 second to change the display unit.
The IR-230 is equipped for longer periods of temperature measuring with the permanent measuring function "Lock". To activate permanent measuring, press the measuring button (2) until the IR-230 turns on and shows "Hold". Now press the mode button (5) three times until the device displays "Lock". Press the measuring button (2) for approx. 1 second to activate permanent measuring. To deactivate, press the mode button (5).
The IR-230 is equipped with a min/max measuring function. To activate this function, press the measuring button (2) until the IR-230 turns on and shows "Hold". Now press the mode button (5) once (max.) or twice (min.) and confirm this by pressing the measuring button (2). Only the respective maximum or minimum temperature value is displayed now when pressing the measuring button (2). To deactivate, press the mode button (5).
The thermometer cannot measure through transparent surfaces. It will measure the surface temperature instead.
To maintenance the thermometer accuracy, the thermometer should not be used in locations with excessive steam, dust, smoke and/or vapors. It is also not recommendable to use the thermometer in measuring reflective surfaces such as stainless steel or aluminum wrapping.
Observe correct polarity while inserting the batteries. Remove the batteries if the device is not used for a long period of time to avoid damage through leaking.
Leaking or damaged batteries might cause acid burns when contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted batteries.
Keep batteries out of reach of children. Do not leave the battery lying around, as there is risk, which children or domestic pets could swallow it.
Make sure that batteries are not dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire.
Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
There is a risk of explosion!
When the low battery icon, , is flashing lower right hand side of the display, replace the batteries as the following procedures.
Keep the thermometer dry; if it gets wet, wipe it dry immediately.
Blow loose dirt particles off the probe. Remove residual dirt particles by means of a fine lens brush.
Clean the exterior of the thermometer with a slightly moistened cloth. Moisten the cloth with water only. Do not use chemicals or cleansing agents for cleaning.
In order to preserve, protect and improve the quality of environment, protect human health and utilise natural resources prudently and rationally, the user should return unserviceable product to relevant facilities in accordance with statutory regulations.
The crossed-out wheeled bin indicates the product needs to be disposed separately and not as municipal waste.
The user is legally obliged to return used batteries and accumulators. Disposing used batteries in the household waste is prohibited! Batteries/ accumulators containing hazardous substances are marked with the crossed-out wheeled bin. The symbol indicates that the product is forbidden to be disposed via the domestic refuse. The chemical symbols for the respective hazardous substances are Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
You can return used batteries/ accumulators free of charge to any collecting point of your local authority, our stores or where batteries/ accumulators are sold.
Consequently you comply with your legal obligations and contribute to environmental protection!
