Introduction The DS9208 scanner is versatile in its ability to scan any 1D and 2D bar codes from printed labels to loyalty cards. The true point-and-shoot scanning allows users to quickly assist customers. There is no need to align bar codes with this hands-free and hand-held flexible scanner. -

Installation Topaz To install the DS9208 scanner with the supplied cable, connect the cable to COM port 8 on the back of the Topaz. Ruby2 To install the DS9208 scanner with the supplied cable, connect the cable to COM port 8 on the back of the Ruby2. -

Configuration After the DS9208 scanner has been successfully installed, it will need to be configured on either the Topaz or Ruby2 through the CSR Func > Maintenance Menu. Log into the Topaz or Ruby2. Select the CSR Func key. Select the Maintenance option from the Main Menu. - Page 10 Select the Device Configuration function.

- Page 12 After the scanner type has been changed or the scanner moved to a different port, the register must be rebooted. After selecting the 2D Scanner option, scan the following bar codes in the order listed to configure the DS9208 scanner for Verifone.

Volume Adjustment To change the beeper volume, scan the Low Volume, Medium Volume, or High Volume bar codes. -

Unable to hear the beep Volume is turned down. Use the Volume or is too low Adjustment section to increase the beep volume.
