MAINS CONNECTION

Before plugging the appliance into the mains supply, check that the voltage corresponds with that stated on the characteristics plate. The use of an earthed socket is recommended.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Read these instructions carefully. Safeguard them for future reference.
  • The toaster can get very hot when it is operating. Do not touch the hot surfaces. Use the handles and buttons.
  • Bread can catch fire. The toaster must not be used near or below curtains or other flammable materials. Do not leave it unattended.
  • Do not let children handle the appliance.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Keep children away from the appliance. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • The apliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remotecontrol system.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  • Never insert metal objects into the toaster as this could lead to a fire or electric shocks.
  • Never use knives, forks or any other metal object to remove the toast or crumbs.
  • The use of accessories not recommended by the manufacturer could be dangerous.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
  • Never place anything on top of the toaster while it is operating.
  • Keep the toaster away from any sources of heat.
  • Never leave the cable hanging freely, nor allow it to come into contact with hot surfaces.
  • Do not lay the toaster on its side.
  • Do not insert excessively large pieces of food into the toaster.
  • Do not try to remove food from the toaster while it is still operating.
  • Unplug the appliance from the mains when it is not in use and before cleaning it. Leave it to cool down before cleaning it.
  • This appliance is intended for domestic use only.
  • This appliance must only be used for the purposes for which it was designed.
  • Do not switch the appliance on if either the cable or plug are damaged, if it can be detected that it is not operating correctly or if it has suffered any type of damage. Cable repairs and replacements must be carried out exclusively by an Authorised Technical Service Centre.
  • warning NOTE: The selected toast setting may vary depending on the water content of the bread that you are using.
  • Only use the appliance indoors at room temperature and up to 2000 m above sea level.

  • Hot surface. Surface is liable to get hot during use.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

When switching the toaster on for the first time, use the toaster at its maximum setting but without any bread. Do this twice to burn off any residual odours. Place the bread in. If you are only going to toast one slice, place it in the centre of the slot for best results. Plug the toaster in and press the operating lever. This will switch the toaster on, the ON lamp (5) will light up and the bread holding device will set itself (self-centring). The operating lever (2) will not stay down if the toaster is not plugged in to the mains supply.

Extralift




(B1)

As soon as the toast is browned to the selected setting, the toaster will switch itself off automatically and eject the toast. The operating lever may be lifted up slightly beyond its normal position to help remove smaller pieces of toast.

Turn the selector to the desired setting:

1 - Shortest toasting time
7 - Longest toasting time

Stop button




(B3)

When the stop button [ ] is pressed the toaster is switched off and the bread is ejected. The toasting operation can be interrupted at any time.

Reheat function




(B4)

To reheat cold toast, push the operating lever down and press the reheat button. The pilot lamp will light up. The toaster will stay on for 30 seconds, independently of the toast setting.

Defrost function




(B5)

When using frozen bread, lower the operating lever and press the [ ] position, the pilot lamp will light up. Whenever this function is used, toasting time will be increased slightly to allow the bread to defrost and brown correctly.

Bread warmer




(B6)

Can be used to keep small rolls or pastries warm, ready for eating.

Press the bread warmer lifting lever (12) The rods will lift automatically to accommodate the bread. Adjust the setting (3) to the desired position, 1 to 3 maximum. Place the rolls or croissants on top of the bread warmer rack and lower the operating lever (2). The operating lever (2) will spring back up when warming has finished. To drop the bread warmer rods, lift lever (12). Leave the appliance to cool down and the unplug it.

Types of bread

The toaster accepts most types of standard shaped sliced bread. Mexican torta type breads and similar products are not suitable for toasting and should not be used in this toaster.

CLEANING

Check that the appliance is unplugged from the mains and completely cold. Clean the outer casing with a damp cloth. Never let water get inside the toaster, nor insert any metal objects in through the bread slot. Never use abrasive cleaning products.

Crumb removal


(B7)

Open the crumb catcher tray and remove the contents.


Always unplug the toaster from the mains before doing this.

Cable coiler

The mains cable can be wound around the cable tidy located on the base of the toaster.

REPAIRS

Should the appliance become defective, do not hesitate in taking it along to an Authorised Technical Service Centre.
