5. Disconnect the signal cable and the power cable from the rear of the optical drive, and then remove the
screw that secures the optical drive.

6. Slide the optical drive out of the front of the computer.

7. Hold one end of the optical drive cover and remove it from the optical drive as shown.

8. Take the new optical drive out of the static-protective package by its sides.
9. Hold one end of the optical drive cover and install it on the optical drive.
10. Slide the new optical drive into the front of the computer.
11. Align the screw hole in the new optical drive with the corresponding hole in the hard disk drive bracket.
Then, tighten the screw to secure the new optical drive in place.
12. Connect the signal cable and the power cable to the new optical drive.
