3. Replacement of used oil filter with new oil filter
Replace old oil filter after the engine has cooled. The replacement cycle should be followed
according to the maintenance cycle schedule.
Steps for replacement:
• Use oil filter wrench to remove old oil filter. Turn to the left to loosen.
• Before installing new oil filter coat, gasket surface with a thin layer of oil before installation.
• Twist new filter to the right to tighten into place with a firm hand. Do not over or under tighten filter
• Start generator and run for several minutes. Check for leaks. Shut down unit and check oil
level using dipstick. Oil level should read between point A and point B on dipstick. If needed
add additional oil. Do not over fill.
Note: Use oil filter wrench if needed but don't over tighten, the recommended torque is between
15N.M-20N.M. Dispose of used oil and filter properly: do not pour down drain or on ground.
