Chapter 1 Notes regarding the operating instructions Symbols The layout of the operating instructions is designed to make important notes, instructions or warnings particularly clear by using symbols and signaling words. Danger! These symbols and the Danger! signal words are used for immediately threatening dangers of fatal injury.

Chapter 3 General CE symbol In the EU and in certain countries, the remote control may only be operated with: Valid CE symbol and a valid declaration of conformity for the installation of the crane to be controlled. EU requirements are thus fulfilled. The crane to be controlled and all ancillary equipment require an own CE symbol.

The graph is an example and shows the standard functions. If requested by the customer, the function assignment of the switches, levers or displays can be changed by authorised PALFINGER service workshops. Prior to initial operation of the remote control, every operator must learn the arrangement of the functions, switches, displays in an operator training on the handset.

Overview Operating symbols - Remote control handset PALFINGER recommends the following crane functions assignment. If requested by the customer, the function assignment can be changed by any authorised PALFINGER service workshop. The assignment is shown by adhesive labels on every remote control.
Chapter 4 Overview Overview of the function assignment 60 70 Linear levers 5, 6, 7 and 8 are assigned depending on the equipment of the crane. Linear lever 8 can be switched and can be used for 2 ancillary devices. 60 70 Linear levers 5 and 6 are assigned depending on the equipment of the crane.
Overview Warning horn Danger! There is an acute risk of fatal injury for any person in the danger zone. Operate the warning horn button (press OLP key for at least 0.5 seconds) if anyone should approach the danger zone. Automatic activation of AOS function (vibration damping) The manual AOS function prevents the outer boom from oscillating after jerky crane movements.

Overview Operating time with a charged battery is approx. 8 hours. If the remote control is not in use for a longer time, remove the battery from the handset. You may leave the charged battery in the switched on charger (red and green lights on), where it remains fully charged (trickle charging).

Failure to check the remote control for any malfunction before starting work will result in acute danger to life. Carefully check the remote control for any malfunction before starting work every day. Insert the fully charged battery in the handset of the remote control.

If any malfunctions occur, release the operating lever immediately and press the emergency cut-off button until it locks. The remote control may only be used once the malfunction has been corrected by a PALFINGER service workshop.
Remote operation Working or transport position of the rope winch small large In order to adjust the rope winch to working or transport position, keep toggle key (1, release) depressed while simultaneously pressing the respective toggle key (2, a=transport position, b=working position).
Chapter 6 Remote operation Attaching and detaching of loads by the crane operator Danger! When the load is attached or detached by the crane operator, he might inadvertently operate one of the crane functions. This creates an acute risk of fatal injury. Attaching of load by the operator: Move the boom to the respective position.
Damages to the unit must be repaired immediately by a PALFINGER partner. Repairs have to be recorded in the service manual. If a repair is not carried out by a PALFINGER partner warranty will become void. Disposal Electronic components are problematic waste. This is in particular applicable to the batteries. Defective batteries may not be disposed of in the environment.
