• Do not touch the pins on the microprocessor socket or the gold contacts on the microprocessor.
Removal steps of system board
1. Remove the computer cover. See "Computer cover" on page 62.
2. Remove the bottom cover. See "Bottom cover" on page 70.
3. To get access to the system board, remove the following parts if any:
a. "Internal speaker" on page 63
b. "System fan" on page 64
c. "Coin-cell battery" on page 65
d. "PCIe card and PCIe converter" on page 67
e. "Wi-Fi card and Wi-Fi card shield" on page 68
f.
"M.2 solid-state drive" on page 71
g. "Memory module" on page 73
h. "Rear Wi-Fi antenna cable" on page 74
i.
"Front Wi-Fi antenna" on page 75
j.
"Antenna bracket" on page 76
k. "Heat sink" on page 77
l.
"Microprocessor" on page 78
4. Record the cable routing and cable connections, and then disconnect all cables from the system board.
See "System board" on page 50.
5. Remove the following screws that secure the system board, and then carefully lift the system board out
of the chassis.
Note: Carefully handle the system board by its edges.
