HOW TO OPERATE

  1. Ensure that the thermometer has been turned off before taking temperature.
  2. Press the power button. A short "Bi" signal will be heard, all the symbols will be turned on for one second to ensure all parts of the LCD is functioning properly, and then the last measurement data will be shown on the display for about 2 seconds. Finally, the flashing symbol °C will appear to indicate that the thermometer is ready to measure the body temperature.
  3. During the measurement the LCD will display "Lo °C" if the measured temperature is below 32.0°C, or will display "Hi°C" if the measured temperature is above 43.0°C.
  4. When the probe tip reaches its thermal equilibrium or peak, °C symbol stops flashing and the beeper will sound 10 times. The temperature is now ready to read and will not change when the thermometer is removed.
  5. If the measured temperature is higher than 37.8°C, the fever warning function will make the beeper sound fleetly for about 10 seconds.
  6. After measuring, turn off the unit by pressing the power button. If the power is left on, the "automatic shutoff function" will activate in approx. 9 minutes to save power. In continuous measurement, start each operation again from the beginning.

warning Notes:

  • The normal temperatures are different depending on the human body and measuring time.
  • Wait at least 3 minutes between measurements.
  • Measurement may be inaccurate when the battery is low.
  • To get stabilize temperature, it is advice to measure for at least 3 minutes.
  • Children should be under close supervision at all times while using this product. After monitoring the temperature, the unit should be removed from the child immediately.

HOW TO REPLACE THE BATTERY

When the battery flag " " appears and blinks, the battery needs to be replaced.

  1. Remove the battery cover by pulling it out.
  2. Remove battery with a non-metal probe.
  3. Replace with an alkaline LR41 battery or similar.
  4. Make sure the positive side (+) facing up.
  5. Close the cover securely.
  6. Carefully discard the used battery and keep it out of children's reach.

METHODS OF USE

When measuring your body temperature, always measure it at the same place of your body and at the same time.
Whichever method is used, it is recommended that for 15 minutes prior to use, avoid eating or drinking any liquids, exercising, taking showers or baths, or smoking.

RECTAL USE

Commonly used for babies, young children, or when it is difficult to take an Oral or Axillary temperature.

  1. Cover the thermometer's tip with a probe cover and lubricate with a water-soluble jelly for easier insertion. Do not use a petroleum jelly.
  2. Gently insert the tip of the thermometer NO MORE THAN 1/2 inch into the rectum. If you detect resistance, stop. Hold the thermometer in place during measurement.
  3. When the peak temperature is reached (usually 10~15 seconds), 10 beep signals will sound and the "°C" sign will stop flashing. The temperature is now ready to read and will not change when the thermometer is removed.

Remember that this method produces a temperature about 0.5~1°C higher than a temperature taken orally.

ORAL USE

  1. Cover the thermometer's tip with a probe cover.
  2. Place the probe tip well under the tongue. The mouth should remain closed during the measurement to ensure an accurate reading. Be careful not to bite the thermometer.
  3. When the peak temperature is reached (15~25 seconds), 10 beep signals will sound and the "°C" sign will stop flashing. The temperature is now ready to read and will not change when the thermometer is removed.

AXILLARY USE

This method used for babies and young children but less accurate and takes longer.

  1. Wipe the underarm with a towel.
  2. Cover the thermometer's tip with a probe cover. Place the probe tip well under the underarm.
When the peak temperature is reached (usually 30 seconds but sometimes longer for this method), 10 beep signals will sound and the "°C" sign will stop flashing. The temperature is now ready to read and will not change when the thermometer is removed.
Remember that this method produces a temperature 1°C lower than a temperature taken orally.
  3. To continuously measure temperature 10 minutes and ignore the beep sound will get the temperature close to oral temperature.

HOW TO CLEAN

  1. Clean the thermometer probe before and after use by wiping it with medical alcohol (70% isopropyl alcohol).
  2. When taking continuous measurements, we recommend using a probe cover, which should not to be reused.
  3. Cleaning is required before every measurement.

warning Note: The product doesn't need any calibration and its use is recommended for 3 years.
