NOTE: Before you
turned on or connected to AC power and battery should remove from the notebook.
Removing Memory/ Mini PCI/ CPU Cover
1. Carefully place the notebook computer upside down.
2. Remove the six screws to detach the cover.
Expanding Memory
1. Follow the steps described above.
2. To install the SO-DIMM, match the SO-DIMM's notched part with the socket's projected part and
firmly insert the SO-DIMM into the socket at a 20-degree angle. Then push down until the retaining
clips lock the SO-DIMM into position.
3. Replace the cover and secure with the six screws.

    Product Engineering Group Installing the Mini PCI Card To install the Mini PCI card, match the notched part of the Mini PCI card with the socket’s projected part, and firmly insert the Mini PCI card into the socket at a 20-degree angle. Then push down until the retaining clips lock the Mini PCI card into position.
  • Page 3 Product Engineering Group 4. Lift up the lever on the CPU socket to the vertical position. 5. Align the arrowhead corner of the CPU with the beveled corner of the socket, as shown, and insert The CPU pins into the holes. NOTE: Make sure that the CPU’s position properly fits into the socket.

Paste the Thermal stickers on back side of Heat Sink (the side which is going to sit on the processor) Gel Sticker Outer sticker (A) First paste the small Gel sticker at the centre of the heat sink. (B) Paste the outer sticker over the Gel sticker on the heat sink.

    Product Engineering Group Replacing the Battery Pack 1. Carefully place the notebook computer upside down. 2. Slide the battery security lock outward to the unlock ( ) position (1 ) 3. Slide the battery latch outward (2 ) all the way to the “unlock” ( ), and while still holding the latch, pull the battery away from its compartment ( 3 ).
  • Page 6 Product Engineering Group Replacing the COMBO Drive 1. Carefully place the notebook computer upside down. 2. Remove the one screw locking the COMBO drive. 3. Insert a small rod, such as a straightened paperclip into the drive’s manual eject hole (1) and push firmly to release the tray.

    Product Engineering Group Replacing the HDD Module 1. Carefully place the notebook computer upside down. 2. Remove two screws (1) and slide the cover toward the left (2). Pull up the cover from the indented part on the right side of the cover by using a small flat screwdriver (3). Detach the compartment cover to access the hard disk drive.
  • Page 8 Product Engineering Group 4. Remove four screws to separate the hard disk drive from the metal shield. 5. To install a new hard disk drive, place it in the metal shield and tighten the four screws. 6. Slide the HDD module into the compartment. Make sure that the connectors on hard disk drives have been aligned to the connectors on the system board.
