Safety Information

Range of uses: The HEINE EN100® is designed exclusively for use as a power source for medical instruments with 3.5V bulbs. The HEINE EN100® should only be operated by trained medical staff.

General Safety: This unit needs no maintenance. Do not open the housing. Repairs should only be carried out by qualified specialists. If the unit is damaged, disconnect the mains cord immediately.

Safety in use: Ensure that the mains voltage specified on the instrument label conforms to the local mains voltage. Do not use in the presence of an explosion hazard or in a strong magnetic field.

Assembly and disassembly

Use only the mounting plate which is supplied with the EN100 for wall-mounting. Please refer to the enclosed assembly instructions.

  1. Hold the mounting plate horizontally in place where the unit should be mounted and mark the holes to be drilled in the wall.
  2. Drill a hole with a 6 mm drill at least 35 mm deep and insert the fixing plugs U6.
  3. Screw the mounting-plate in with a suitable screwdriver.
  4. Disconnect the mains cord from the unit and press into the 3 mounting pins and down until it is firmly in place.
  5. Check that all three mounting-pins have engaged.

To disassemble, disconnect the mains cord and push the unit up to remove it from the mounting plate.

Connecting instruments

The HEINE EN100® cord handles are fitted with HEINE automatic connectors for use with all similarly – equipped HEINE instruments.

  • Hold the handle in one hand and insert the instrument connector into the guides in the handle head.
  • Press the instrument into the head until it clicks audibly into place.
  • To remove the instrument, rotate the upper conical ring with thumb and index finger to the right and, with the other hand, pull out the instrument.
  • Instruments can be locked to prevent unauthorised removal by fitting the instrument locks according to the instruction leaflet S-277.04.06.

Installation

  • Connect the unit to the mains with the mains cord.
  • Switch on, the green light operates.
  • The handles switch on automatically when removed from the unit.
  • The control ring on the handle can be rotated to select the desired brightness.
  • Both handles can be simultaneously used independent of each other.

Cleaning

Disconnect the mains cord!
Clean and disinfect using 70% Isopropyl alcohol.
