Overview
The DT4900 is a software application for processing data from supported instruments on a computer.
Inspection
When you receive the product, inspect it carefully to ensure that no damage occurred during shipping. If damage is evident, or if it fails to operate according to the specifications, contact your authorized Hioki distributor or reseller.
Usage Notes
Before Using the software, please read these notes carefully.
- HIOKI E.E. CORPORATION is the author of DT4900.
- Except for the purposes of processing data from sup-ported instruments, copying, reproduction, or amendment in whole or in part of DT4900 is prohibited by law.
- For the purpose of product development, the DT4900 issubject to upgrading without notice.
- To publish material referencing the DT4900, the priorconsent of Hioki is required. The trade mark "HIOKI" may not be used.
- Hioki cannot accept any responsibility whatever for theresults of a customers operation of the DT4900.
CD
- Always hold the disc by the edges, so as not to makefingerprints on the disc or scratch the printing.
- Never touch the recorded side of the disc. Do not placethe disc directly on anything hard.
- Do not wet the disc with volatile alcohol or water, asthere is a possibility of the label printing disappearing.
- To write on the disc label surface, use a spirit-based feltpen. Do not use a ball-point pen or hard-tipped pen, because there is a danger of scratching the surface and corrupting the data. Do not use adhesive labels.
- Do not expose the disc directly to the sun's rays, or keepit in conditions of high temperature or humidity, as there is a danger of warping, with consequent loss of data.
- To remove dirt, dust, or fingerprints from the disc, wipewith a dry cloth, or use a CD cleaner. Always wipe from the inside to the outside, and do no wipe with circular movements. Never use abrasives or solvent cleaners.
- Hioki shall not be held liable for any problems with acomputer system that arises from the use of this CD, or for any problem related to the purchase of a Hioki product.

- If the product seems to be malfunctioning, contact yourauthorized Hioki distributor or reseller.

NOTE
For numerical settings, please adjust the settings on your PC so that the period [.] is used to represent the decimal point, and the comma [,] is used to separate groups of thousands.

Hardware Connection

Connect the supported instrument to the computer with the included USB cable, taking care to align the cable's connector with the receptacle on the communication adapter.
- Attach the communication adapter to the supported instrument.
- Connect the USB cable to the communication adapter.
- Connect the USB cable to the computer.
Software Installation
- Verify that the computer to be used satisfies the operating environment requirements outlined in the general specifications and insert the CD into the computer's CD-ROM drive.
- Install the USB driver.
Install the driver found in the [\USB Driver] folder on the CD. - Launch [\Appli\setup.exe] and follow the instructions on your screen to install the driver.
(For more information about the installation procedure, refer to the instruction manual in the [\Manual] folder on the CD.)
NOTE
This product uses a virtual COM port. The COM port number allocated to the USB port will vary with the computer on which the software is used.
Use the following method to check the allocated COM port number.
- WindowsXP
[Control Panel] - [System] - [Hardware] - [Device Manager] - WindowsVista
[Start] - [Control Panel] - [Hardware and Sound] - [Device Manager] - Windows7
[Start] - [Control Panel] - [System and Security] - [Device Manager]
- The x in "Prolific USB-to-Serial Bridge (COMx)" in the list of ports (COM and LPL) indicates the COM port number.
