Failure to follow these guidelines may result in damage to the product and put the user at risk. If in any doubt, contact your supplier directly for advice. - The eTRAVEL Folding Mobility Scooter is supplied with a rechargeable maintenance free Lithium-Ion battery which MUST BE charged using the supplied battery charger.
SAFETY ADVICE (CONTINUED) - Before sitting in or exiting the scooter, REMOVE the key from the ignition. This will ensure the POWER is off and the scooter can not move under its own power. As a general precaution, always remove the key from the ignition while the scooter is not in use.
EMI WARNING Scooters may be susceptible to electromagnetic interference (EMI), which is a kind of interfering electromagnetic energy (EM) emitted from sources such as radio stations, TV stations, amateur radio (HAM) transmitters, two-way radio and mobile phones. The interference (from radio wave sources) can cause the scooter to release its brakes, move by itself, or move in unintended directions.

Do not operate hand-held transceivers (transmitters-receivers), such as citizens band (CB) radios, or turn ON personal communication devices, such as mobile phones, while the scooter is turned ON. 2. Be aware of nearby transmitters, such as radio or TV stations, and try to avoid coming close to them.

SCOOTER SET UP PRIOR TO USE Please read through the entire user manual prior to setting up and using the scooter. The user manual has been layed out in a logical order for instruction on how to set up, use, pack away and care for the eTRAVEL Folding Mobility Scooter. However you may need to revert back to the contents page to locate information on a specific aspect of the scooter.
UNFOLD TILLER Please follow these instructions to unfold the tiller: Tiller Step 1: Pull the yellow knob out and rotate the tiller up. Yellow knob Step 2: Continue to rotate the tiller up until it ‘clicks’ into place. Important Note: Check to ensure that the tiller is locked in place prior to use.

CHARGING BATTERY The eTRAVEL Folding Mobility Scooter is supplied with a rechargeable maintenance free Lithium-Ion battery which MUST BE charged using the supplied battery charger. WARNING! PREPARE TO RIDE SCOOTER Sit on the scooter and rest your feet either on the footplate or the footpegs. Important note: DO NOT rest your feet on the front wheel covers! (They will break) Foot pegs Adjust the tiller to a height that is comfortable and allows you to have full control of the scooter when steering.
ADJUST TILLER HEIGHT Tiller Please follow these instructions to adjust the tiller to the required height: Step 2: Raise and hold the tiller at the required height. Lever Step 1: Rotate the lever out. Step 3: Rotate the lever back in to hold the tiller in place.
TURN SCOOTER ON Please follow these instructions to fit the key and turn the scooter on: 2 keys supplied. Keep one in a safe place as a spare. Jack Key FULLY inserted Step 1: POWER ON Slide the pin on the key (Dash lights turn on) into the jack on the left hand side of the display.
SCOOTER CONTROLS Please follow these instructions to control the scooter as required: Hand grips Speed Lever Battery Power Indicator Forward / Reverse Switch Speed Dial Speed Lever: Pull the lever in to make the scooter move. Speed varies depending on how far the lever is pulled in. Scooter will stop if lever is not pulled in.
OPERATING THE SCOOTER Getting Started - Select a level area with plenty of space. - Ensure you are comfortable on the scooter prior to driving. Adjust setting as required. Scooter Movement - Push in the key to turn on the power. - Turn the speed dial all the way to the left (Tortoise) to allow slow movement.
DISENGAGE MOTOR Please follow these instructions to disengage the motor so the scooter can be pushed around without power when required (Freewheeling): IMPORTANT NOTE - NEVER disengage the motor on an incline. - Never ride the scooter when the motor is disengaged as the braking system is also disengaged.

LIFTING THE SCOOTER Once the eTRAVEL Folding Mobility Scooter is folded up it can be moved around by picking up the unit or wheeling it around on its front wheels. IMPORTANT NOTE Only pick up the scooter from the footpegs and the pull handle. DO NOT lift holding the tiller! (Damage could be caused if you lift the scooter from any other part.)

MOVING THE SCOOTER If required the eTRAVEL Folding Mobility Scooter can be wheeled around once folded. Please follow these instructions to move the scooter as required: Step 1: Using the pull handle Lift and rotate up the REAR of the scooter until the footpegs are touching the ground.

MOVING THE SCOOTER (CONTINUED) Step 4: Approach the scooter from its underside, firmly grab the pull handle, pull it towards you until the front wheels engaging with the ground. IMPORTANT NOTE Avoid leaving the scooter sitting upright if not being pulled around. Scooter could fall over and damage the scooter and cause injury to any bystanders.

TROUBLESHOOTING If the eTRAVEL Folding Mobile Scooter fails to operate please check the following: - Unit is switched on. - Battery has been fitted. - All plugs and cable connections are firmly fitted. - Battery level shows full charge. - Motor has been engaged. (not freewheeling) If the motor has been disengaged and the scooter power has been switched on - the scooter will not operate until it is turned off and then turned on again.

INSPECT / MAINTAIN / SERVICE INSPECTIONS Visually and physically look over the scooter for signs of damage or wear prior and during use. Inspect the entire scooter and particular attention to the following areas: Tyres / Seat / Backrest / Tiller / Display / Handgrips / Fixings Check to ensure that all parts work and scooter can be controlled as required.

CLEANING THE SCOOTER Clean the eTRAVEL Folding Mobility Scooter on a regular basis. You must take extreme care when cleaning any electrical aspect of the scooter as water or fluid of any kind can cause severe damage. - Remove the battery from the scooter prior to cleaning. - Only use a soft damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaning solution or mild detergent.
