Risk of injury:
- Keep this instrument and the battery out of reach of children.
- Batteries contain harmful acids and may be hazardous if swallowed. If a battery is swallowed, this can lead to serious internal burns and death within two hours. If you suspect a battery could have been swallowed or otherwise caught in the body, seek medical help immediately.

Getting started
- Unscrew both decorative screws (see figure 1) and open the housing. On the one side there is the thermometer movement a), on the other side the clockwork b).

Clock
- Take the protection cover of the clockwork between one's thumbs and fingers, press it in the direction of the arrow and turn it up.
- Insert one new battery 1.5 V AA, polarity as indicated.
- Set the time by turning the clock setting knob.
- Fit the protection cover firmly on the clockwork first attaching the cover at the bottom and click it back into position.
Thermometer
- The thermometer measures the temperature in degree Centigrade.
- After transport or long-term use it is recommended to check and eventually readjust the thermometer.
- For readjustment compare the indicated value with a well-calibrated instrument. Deviations can be corrected by carefully turning the black thermometer movement (see figure 1a).

Do not touch the metal pin.
Fixing
- Reassemble the housing exactly. Pay attention to the sealing ring.
- Put both decorative screws back in their holes. Make sure that the screws are in the right position. Tighten them slightly at first and then screw both in tight at the same time (see figure 2).

- You can fix the holder with two solid screws and dowels on a wall (weight bearing capacity 1500 g).
Avoid direct sunshine!
Care and maintenance
- Clean the device with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents.
- Remove the battery if you do not use the device for a long period of time.
