Carefully unpack the device and make sure all accessories are present:

Installation

Placement

Place the unit on a stable, even surface.

Cables

shock hazard Lay the power cable in such a way that it cannot be damaged. The power cable may not be kinked or laid over sharp edges, stood on or exposed to chemicals; the latter also applies to the system as a whole. A power cable with damaged insulation can cause electric shocks and poses a fire risk. As such, it must be changed before the unit is used again.

Do not use this device near water

The device should never be exposed to water droplets or water splashes, such as those found near a bathtub, wash basin, kitchen sink, washing machine, wet basement or swimming pool. Never place containers filled with liquids, such as e.g. flower vases, on the device.

Ventilation

Slots and openings in the housing are used to ventilate the device to ensure reliable operation of the device and to protect the device from overheating. Do not block the ventilation holes. Install the device according to the manufacturer's instructions. Never block the ventilation holes by placing the device on a bed, sofa, rug, or similar soft surfaces. This device should not be installed in a bookshelf or built-in wardrobe unless adequate ventilation is ensured.

Heat

Do not install the device near hot surfaces, such as radiators, fan heaters, stoves or other devices (including amplifiers) that can be hot. Never place objects with open flame, such as candles or lanterns, on or near the device.

Accessories

Use only the accessories specified by the manufacturer.

Usage

Intended use

This device is intended exclusively for the reception and playback of sound signals.

Overload

Never overload mains sockets, extension cords or multiple sockets, otherwise there is a risk of fire or electric shock.

Thunderstorm

shock hazard The device should be disconnected from the mains during thunderstorms and if it is not used for a long time.

Penetration of foreign material and liquid

shock hazard Be careful not to allow foreign material or liquid to enter this device through ventilation holes, otherwise it may come into contact with high voltage components or short circuit resulting in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquids of any kind on this device.

Risks associated with high volume

warning The device is not designed for listening with headphones. To prevent possible hearing damage, do not listen at high volume for long periods.

Disconnection from power supply

To completely disconnect the device from the mains, unplug the mains cable from the socket.
The mains plug must be easily accessible so that the unit can be disconnected from the mains at any time.

Maintenance

Device maintenance

Never attempt to carry out the maintenance of this device yourself, because live parts can be exposed through the openings or by removing covers, contacting which can be hazardous. Leave all maintenance to qualified service personnel.

Clean only with a dry cloth!

Unplug the mains adapter of this device from the mains socket before cleaning this product. Never use liquid cleaning detergents or cleaning sprays. Use only a damp cloth for cleaning.

Repair

Damages requiring repair

Maintenance and repair work should only be carried out by a qualified customer service. Maintenance/repair is required if the device has been damaged (e.g. the mains adapter) if liquid has entered the device, if objects have entered the device, if the device has been exposed to rain or moisture, when it stops working properly or has fallen down.

To minimize the risk of electric shock, fire, etc.

Do not remove screws, covers or body parts.

Volume knob operation

Rotate left – Decrease volume.
Rotate right – Increase volume.
Press and hold for at least 3 seconds – The unit will go into Bluetooth pairing mode.

Transmitter pairing button operation

Long press - Starts Bluetooth pairing mode with an external device.

warning Note:
Bluetooth pairing expires after 2 minutes if no external Bluetooth device is found. Press and hold the button again to restart pairing.

Short press - Reconnects to the last paired device.

Setting up the subwoofer

You can position the subwoofer anywhere on the floor.

To use a wireless connection, do not place the subwoofer further than 3 m from the Bluetooth transmitter. You can place the subwoofer further than 3 m from the transmitter, but we do not guarantee trouble-free operation.

Connect the power cable to the bottom of the subwoofer. Secure the cable to the cable management compartment. Finally, plug the power cable to the mains socket.

The subwoofer powers on automatically and enters the Bluetooth pairing mode.


Never obstruct the air vents on the subwoofer. Make sure it is at least 10 cm from the wall.

Connecting to the TV

TV compatibility

Loewe klang sub1 is compatible with all Loewe TV sets with SL3, SL4, SL5, SL7 chassis and all other TV sets with variable audio line-out. This means that the TV must support changing the line-out volume synchronously with the volume of the TV speakers.

Pairing subwoofer with a TV via Bluetooth transmitter

  1. Connect the supplied USB extension cable to the TV.
  2. Connect the Bluetooth transmitter to the other end of the USB extension cable.
  3. Use 3,5mm audio cable to connect transmitter to the "AUDIO OUT" connector on the TV.
    warning Note: If you want to use a different audio cable than the one included in the package, use only an audio cable with ground loop isolator.
  4. Press and hold the pairing button on the transmitter until LED indicator on it will start flashing quickly.
  5. Press and hold volume knob of the subwoofer for at least 3 seconds to enter pairing mode.
  6. Your TV and the subwoofer will now be connected by the transmitter; the LED indicator on the transmitter will stop flashing.

Connection via audio cable

It is possible to connect a TV with the subwoofer directly with 3,5 mm audio cable.

  1. Connect 3,5 mm audio cable to "LINE IN" jack on the bottom of the subwoofer. Use only a cable with a right-angle 3,5 mm stereo plug for this connection.
  2. Secure the cable to the cable management compartment.
  3. Connect the other end of the cable to the "AUDIO OUT" jack on the TV.
  4. Rotate the volume knob on the subwoofer to adjust the sound level.

warning Note: In case when both Bluetooth and wired connections are established, sound will be reproduced via Bluetooth.

Additional settings for Loewe TV

If you are connecting subwoofer with Loewe TV, you will need to set it up in the TV menu.

  1. Press the HOME button to open the Home screen and then select [System settings] – [Connections] – [Sound Components].
  2. Select [Speaker System (AUDIO OUT)].
  3. Select the correct speaker setting option and adjust the subwoofer volume using the TV menu.

Auto Standby

The subwoofer automatically switches to standby mode to save power in the following cases:

  1. When Bluetooth is disconnected for 9 minutes.
    The subwoofer automatically wakes up when it detects an incoming Bluetooth signal. If the subwoofer does not wake up automatically, briefly press the pairing button of the transmitter to reconnect to the last paired device.
  2. If no line-in input signal is present for 10 minutes.
    The subwoofer automatically wakes up again when it detects an incoming signal.
