    The water heater should be located near a floor drain, or installed in proximity to an adequately drained drain pan. Westinghouse WILL NOT be held liable for leakage damages. To conserve water and energy, insulate all water piping, especially the hot and recirculation water lines.

    Do not introduce toxic chemicals, such as antifreeze or water heater treatments, into the water heater or any piping meant for potable water purposes. Ensure that all piping and components connected to the water heater are suitable for potable water applications. Do not use this water heater for space heating applications.

    The space must be provided with correctly sized combustion/ventilation air openings for all other appliances located in the space with the water heater.     Remove all sides of the shipping crate to allow the water heater to be lifted into its installation location. J. WALL-MOUNTING THE WATER HEATER The water heater must be installed on a wall that can bear its weight (more than 88 lbs. when fully plumbed and full of water). Installing the water heater on a wall which cannot support its weight could result in property damage, personal injury, or death.

    When installing AL29-4C vent piping, install a PVC-to-stainless adapter at the water heater vent connection, and at the termination when using a Westinghouse PVC termination kit. DO NOT mix AL29-4C piping from different manufacturers unless using adapters specifically designed for the purpose by the manufacturer.

NOTE: To prevent combustion air contamination, see Table 10. Combustion air from the indoor space can be used if the space has adequate area or when air is provided through a duct or louver to supply sufficient combustion air based on the appliance input.

    C. ADDITIONAL PRECAUTION FOR EXCESS FLOW VALVE (EFV) If an excess flow valve (EFV) is in the gas line, check the manufacturer’s minimum and maximum flow capacity ratings. An improperly sized EFV will not allow for a full flow of gas to the water heater and will cause the water heater to malfunction. See Figure 22.

During the first year after the original date of installation, Westinghouse warrants that it will repair or replace, at its option, any defective or malfunctioning component of the water heater with a component of equivalent size and current model. Replacement components will be warranted for ninety (90) days.

    MAINTENANCE REPORT In unusually dirty or dusty conditions, care must be taken to keep water heater cabinet door in place at all times. Failure to do so VOIDS WARRANTY! Allowing the water heater to operate with a dirty combustion chamber will hurt operation. Failure to clean the heat exchanger as needed by the installation location could result in water heater failure, property damage, personal injury, or death.
