To fix a Philips AZ2765 cassette player that is not turning and not playing tapes, try the following steps:
1. Make sure the power cord is securely connected or insert fresh batteries correctly. 2. Ensure the POWER button is turned on. 3. Press the TAPE source button to activate cassette mode. 4. Check if headphones are connected; if so, disconnect them. 5. Clean the cassette heads and deck parts to remove dust and dirt. 6. Use only NORMAL (IEC I) cassette types, as METAL or CHROME tapes are not compatible. 7. If a cassette is inserted, check if the tape tabs are broken; if so, cover the missing tab space with adhesive tape.
If none of these steps work, turn off the set, disconnect the power plug, and reconnect after a few seconds.
