The hydraulic pump should be isolated from any power source through a 50 - 100 amp protection per RVIA Standards and OEM Requirements. Mechanical portions of the BaseCamp Hydraulic Leveling System are replaceable. Contact Lippert to obtain replacement parts.
Failure to correctly follow the provided instructions may result in death, serious personal injury, severe product and/or property damage, including voiding of the Lippert limited warranty. The "WARNING" symbol above is a sign that a procedure has a safety risk involved and may cause death or serious personal injury if not performed safely and within the parameters set forth in this manual.
The use of the Lippert BaseCamp Hydraulic Leveling System to support the trailer for any reason other than which it is intended is prohibited by the Lippert Warranty. The BaseCamp Hydraulic 5th Wheel Leveling System is designed as a leveling system only and should not be used for any reason to provide service under the trailer, e.g.

Measure and make the hydraulic hoses (orange for extend, black for retract). NOTE: Always follow the manufacturer's specifications for the correct minimum bend radius throughout the entirety of the hose route. Use gauges to verify areas with questionably tight bends. Fitting orientation can be adjusted in some applications.
Front Landing Gear When installing front landing gear Lippert recommends at least 12" of ground clearance when the jack is in the retracted position and the frame is in a level state. Using (3) 1/2"-20 x 4" GR8 bolts per jack, attach the landing gear to the mounting brackets (Fig. 5) to achieve proper ground clearance.
Power Unit The power unit mounting location was determined when the trailer was first inspected. Mount the power unit (Fig. 6) to the back or side wall of the front compartment in the position you previously determined using six (6) self tapping screws. Attach hoses to fittings at manifold (Fig.
When installing hydraulic hoses, avoid areas of high heat, e.g. exhaust outlets. Do not use sharp or abrasive materials on or near hydraulic hoses. Hydraulic Hoses Attach hoses to fittings at manifold (Fig. 6). Attach landing gear orange extend hose (Fig. 6A). NOTE: The landing gear extend hose must be connected to a fitting that corresponds to a coil with the gray wire connected to it.

Attach an orange roadside rear extend hose from the manifold to a tee fitting (Fig. 8A) on the roadside mid-rear jack (Fig. 8). Attach an orange curbside rear extend hose from the manifold to a tee fitting (Fig. 8B) on the curbside mid-rear jack (Fig 8).
Controller NOTE: The BaseCamp Hydraulic Leveling System wiring is basically a plug and play system. The kit should include harnesses for the entire system. NOTE: The compartment where the controller will be installed must be protected from the elements and the controller must be installed in compliance with RVIA Gas Codes, as the controller connections are not spark-proof.
Touchscreen NOTE: The touchscreen may be mounted externally. When mounting in an area that is not free of moisture or the elements, a 1/8" bead of sealant should be place around the touch pad. Determine where to mount the touchscreen. The touch screen should be mounted on the side trailer so the operator will have a clear view of the hitch pin wile using the touch pad.
Plug the touchscreen harness into the connector on the back of the touchscreen assembly (Fig. 13A). Snap the touchscreen assembly onto the baseplate to finish the touchscreen installation (Fig. 14). Fig. 13 Fig. 14 LED Light Harness Route the main trunk of the LED light harness down the same side of the frame that the pump is mounted closest to.
NOTE: All valves must be placed in the override position. This can be accomplished by gently turning the hex screw in until it stops. Connect Lippert supplied purge machine to the up and down ports of the pump. Fully extend and retract all hydraulic components 3 times.
Zero Point Calibration The Zero Point is the programmed point that the trailer will return to each time the Auto Level feature is used. The BaseCamp Hydraulic Leveling System controller is shipped with a programmed level zero point. Basic Jack Operation Landing Gear Landing gear jacks can be operated any time the system is on, but not in AUTO MODE.
Troubleshooting Manual Override The Lippert BaseCamp Hydraulic Leveling system can be manually operated with an electric drill. In the event of electrical or system failure, this manual override method of extending and retracting the jacks can be used. NOTE: Turn off the battery disconnect to shut off power to the hydraulic power unit motor prior to attempting the manual override procedure.
Error Codes Make sure the trailer is supported at both the front and rear with jack stands before performing any troubleshooting or service to the trailer. Failure to do so may result in death or personal injury. NOTE: Do not lift the trailer by the axles. The axles were not designed as a viable lift-point When the leveling controller detects an error, it will be presented to the user on the screen, along with some instructions for troubleshooting when appropriate.
