Starting using auxiliary batteries

WARNING! Batteries produce oxyhydrogen. This gas is easily ig-
nited and highly volatile. A short-circuit, naked flame or spark can
cause a large explosion. Ensure that the ventilation is good.
Never mix up battery positive and negative terminals. This may
cause sparks and an explosion.
1. Check the auxiliary batteries have the same rated voltage as the
engine's system voltage.
2. First connect the red jump lead to the discharged battery's + termi-
nal (A) and then to the auxiliary battery's + terminal (B).
3. First connect the black jump lead to the auxiliary battery's – termi-
nal (C) and then to a site (D) where there is good contact with the
cylinder block as far away from the discharged battery as possible.
