Module Serial Number Connection pad Neutron detector Attachment screws Wearing and Battery Guidelines Module Serial Number Technical information The Hp(10) Neutron Module is mounted on a DMC 3000 to expand the DMC 3000’s measurement capabilities to neutron radiation. This user’s guide is to be used along with the DMC 3000 User’s Guide (n°151153EN).
Otherwise, check firmware version by pressing the "+" button to display firmware version. If firmware version is not visible, use DMCUser. Please contact Mirion Technologies for compatibility diagnosis and information. The DMC 3000 must be configured to accept the Hp(10) Neutron Module (configurable in the Parameters tab of...
2.2 Settings The Hp(10) Neutron Module itself contains all the proper functional settings and calibration parameters. These parameters are saved in the module on non-volatile memory. 2.3 Hp(10) Neutron Measurement Display In the standard configuration for the DMC 3000, display of the Hp(10) neutron measurements are automatic after connection of the module.
2.4 Hp(10) Neutron Chirp Dose Increments The blue LED flash provides notification of Hp(10) Neutron dose increments. Dose increments can be selected from the value in the table beside. One blue LED flash per... The blue LED can be configured to flash for following two (2) options: 100 µSv For Hp(10) Neutron Dose.
2.5 Historical Data Function Measurements and events of the Hp(10) Neutron Module are automatically stored in the DMC 3000 histograms along with the Gamma Hp(10) measurements and events. 2.6 Handling Recommendations The belt clip is strongly discouraged when a module is attached on the dosimeter because the opening gap of the clip is significantly reduced.
2.7 Module Management The Module Management Mode is configurable using DMCUser software. None: any physical connection of module is ignored by the dosimeter. All: DMC 3000 accepts all type of module. When a module is connected the dosimeter changes automatically ...
3.1 Alarm Display and Configuration The Hp(10) neutron dose and dose rate warnings and alarms are configurable for the entire measurement range from 1 µSv to 10Sv (0.1 mrem to 1000 rem) and from 100 µSv/h to 10 Sv/h (10 mrem/h to 1000 rem/h). The Hp(10) neutron multiplier efficiency coefficient can alter the precision performance at low dose rates and modify the neutron dose increments size.
3.3 Fault Diagnosis and Resolution Major Fault a major fault prevents the dosimeter from going into Run mode Display Causes Solutions The module was disconnected from the DMC 3000 without Turn the DMC 3000 in Pause mode. Verify the connec- first affecting the disconnection via DMCUser.
4.1 Removing the battery cover Make sure the dosimeter is in PAUSE mode. Unscrew the two screws (2) with the screwdriver provided with your DMC 3000 (1). Rotate the battery cover (3). Remove the battery cover (4). ...
4.2 Attaching the Hp(10) Neutron Module Carefully insert 26-pin connector, ensuring side labeled “BATTERY SIDE” is inserted closest to the battery (5). Check the cleanliness of the module gasket. Completely loosen the 2 screws on the flange of the neutron Module. ...
(11) (10) (12) 4.3 Detaching the Hp(10) Neutron Module Make sure the DMC 3000 is in Pause mode. Unscrew the four screws (9) with the screwdriver provided with your DMC 3000 (1). Pivot the module and detach it from the dosimeter (10). ...
5.1 Principles The neutron dose is linked to the number of counts by the following formula: f (counts) N dose = Kn x KnMul x KnTask Kn is the factory efficiency coefficient and can not be changed by the user. ...
The Neutron Module is calibrated at the factory using established procedures and international standards (ISO/CEI 17025). Mirion Technologies recommends an annual verification of the dosimeter’s calibration. However, the frequency of this verification may be defined by the client according to the conditions and frequency in which the dosimeter is used, and according to local regulation.
5.3 Maintenance Mirion Technologies recommends full inspections of dosimeters at a minimum of once a year. Calibrations (Gamma and Neutron): see §5.2 Functions: check that the DMC 3000 displays and Neutron dose by pressing the "-" key. Check the auto-test when the DMC 3000 exits standby mode: the speaker will chirp once, ...
6.2 Electrical Characteristics The Hp(10) neutron module is powered by the DMC 3000 dosimeter Battery life (with the neutron module) is eight (8) calendar months (typical use of eight (8) hours a day, five (5) days per week in Run mode, without excessive alarms (*) Battery life (with the neutron module) of 2000 hours in continuous operation without excessive alarms (*) ...
6.5 Factory Calibration and Verification Calibrated according to ISO/IEC 17025 with an AmBe source. Calibration beam precision < ± 16% (expanded uncertainty k=2) Calibration dose rate : around 0.75 mSv/h 6.6 Functional Characteristics Confidence test: Self-test of the neutron module detector every ten (10) minutes. ...
