tool.

Operating instructions

This kit is designed to enable the repair of damaged female threads in steel, cast iron, and aluminium, in such a way that the

original size and thread pattern fixings can be used.

Drilling

• Prepare the damaged thread by drilling out all unwanted material. A Drill Bit (1) of the correct final size is provided
• It may be necessary to drill a series of smaller holes before using the supplied bit. Take care to ensure that the drill bit is
correctly centred on the damaged thread

à permettre l'utilisation de pièces de fixation filetées.

• Drill at moderate speed and use appropriate cutting fluid
• The supplied drill bit is not suitable for drilling out hardened fittings. If it is necessary to drill out a
hardened fitting, a specialist bit of the same size should be used

Thread Cutting

1. The new thread for the insert coil should be cut using the supplied Tap (2).
2. Mount the tap into a suitable wrench, and slowly wind clockwise into the freshly drilled hole. Always
use appropriate cutting fluid, and wind the tap back ½ turn anticlockwise for every full turn clockwise
to clear swarf.
3. Remove the tap from the hole.

Inserting the Coil

1. Place an Insert Coil (5) onto the end of the Coil Driver (3), so that it is positively located with the coil
drive tang towards the end of the driver.
2. Wind clockwise into the newly threaded hole.

3. Remove the coil driver.

Removing the Drive Tang

1. Position the Tang Remover (4) into the hole so that it rests on the drive tang.
2. Strike the tang remover lightly with a hammer to remove the tang.
3. The thread repair is now complete, and ready for use.
Perçage
• Préparez le filet endommagé en enlevant par perçage le surplus de matière indésirable. Le foret (1) fourni est de la taille
adéquate pour les filets rapportés
• Il peut être nécessaire de percer une série de trous plus petits avant d'employer le foret fourni. Assurez-vous que le foret
soit correctement centré sur le filet endommagé
• Percez à une vitesse moyenne en employant un liquide de coupe adéquat
• Le foret fourni n'est pas adapté au perçage de métaux trempés. S'il vous est nécessaire de forer un matériau trempé,
utilisez un foret spécial de taille identique
Taraudage
1. Le taraudage destiné à l'élément rapporté doit être réalisé à l'aide du taraud (2) fourni.

2. Montez le taraud sur une clé de serrage adéquate et donnez plusieurs tours dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre dans
le trou fraîchement percé. Utilisez toujours un fluide de coupe approprié et donnez ½ tour à rebours pour chaque tour
complet réalisé afin d'éliminer les débris.
3. Enlevez le taraud du trou.
Insertion du filet rapporté
1. Placez et insérez l'embout (5) au bout du rouleau conducteur (3) de manière à ce qu'il soit bien positionné et que
l'entraîneur de tenon soit au bout du rouleau conducteur.
2. Enroulez dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre dans le trou fraîchement percé.
3. Enlevez le rouleau conducteur.
Briser l'entraîneur
1. Introduisez le brise-entraîneur (4) dans le trou de manière à ce qu'il repose sur l'entraîneur.
2. Tapez brièvement sur le brise-entraîneur à l'aide d'un marteau pour sectionner l'entraîneur.
3. La réparation est terminée.
