  • Page 3 OVERVIEW The MT400DTK leak test kit is a critical component used to test a GME EPIRB after a battery replacement, or if the EPIRB has been opened for any reason. It tests whether the EPIRB is airtight and by implication, watertight. It will reveal cracks in the components and defects in the O-ring gasket seals.
  • Page 4 CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF THE EQUIPMENT ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE The illustration on page 6 may be helpful. 1. Visually inspect all parts for damage prior to assembling the MT400DTK. 2. Attach a suitable airline fitting to the hand slide valve end and mount the air regulator/valve in an upright position.
  • Page 5 7. Using the slide valve, turn the air supply on. 8. If you can hear air escaping from near the O-ring, check that the EPIRB is seated correctly in the cradle and ensure that the O ring is making a good contact. If you can hear air escaping from the EPIRB, it fails the leak test.
