TERMINOLOGY Ventilation Fire damper with 24 VAC motor, closed by spring to the safe position (closed). dampers Evacuation/ Fire damper with 24 VAC motor, opened by spring to the safe position (open). pressure relief/ bypass damper Normal mode Means that ventilation dampers are open and evacuation dampers are closed.
