FeinTech VSW02102 - 2-Port HDMI 2.0 Audio Extractor Manual

Functions

  • Forwards the sound of an Ultra-HD HDMI signal (4K) to an AV receiver or active speaker, with lossless transmission of the HDMI signal
  • downwards-compatible to low resolutions
  • integrated HDMI-Switch for connection of 2 HDMI sources
  • manual adjustment of audio EDID via audio mode switch
  • ARC (Audio Return Channel) for output of TV sound via digital output

Audio Mode Switch

Via EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) a connected TV or AV receiver signals its capabilities (e.g. supported sound format). The HDMI source then automatically delivers only supported formats. The Audio Mode switch allows you to manually set the EDID for the sound format and force stereo or 5.1 sound.

Auto: Bypass, output depends on the best sound format supported by the connected HDMI device. HD sound or 7.1 is also possible.

2.0: The output signal is stereo at all audio connections.

5.1: Output signal is in 5.1 audio format (only if 5.1 audio track is present.)

Note:
HD sound formats such as Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD can only be transmitted via HDMI. 5. 1 sound like Dolby Digital or DTS can also be transmitted via SPDIF Toslink and Coaxial output, depending on the source material.
