Shutdown - Power LED Blinks 5X
Refer to figure 34. If the power LED blinks 5X and repeats, the problem is caused due
to no lamp current detection after the ballast was instucted to turn on. The shutdo

path diagram is shown in figure 34 but start the repair by refering to figure 35
that shows

the 4 LED indicators on the L board. If the lamp enable (2
) LED is lit, the
microprocessor is providing a ballast-on signal which can be verified (B1/pin 1 = 3V) a
t
power-on. If this 3Vdc is present, the spark gap (Z001) on the ballast
board must
momentarly arc at power on. If it arcs, the lamp is bad. If it does not arc, the ballast
assembly is bad. See the ballast / lamp section of this booklet for further
troubleshooting methods.
