Getting Started

Slide the BATTERY COMPARTMENT cover and install 2 AA type batteries, making sure to match the polarity markings (+ o -) inside the compartment.
To power on, press the button.
To turn off, press the button twice.

warningNote: When pressing the button, the unit will search for a readable CD.

CD Playback

Playing a disc
This system allows pre-recorded audio CDs, finalized audio CDRs and CDRWs, and MP3-WMA-CDs (CD-ROMs with MP3/ WMA files).

  1. Slide the OPEN switch to open the CD tray lid.
  2. Insert a disc, printed side faced up, by pressing gently on the disc's center so that it fits onto the hub.
    Close the CD tray lid by pressing it gently.
  3. Press button to start playback.
    When the unit starts reading the contents of the disc, "" will be briefly displayed on the screen.
    Press again to start the playback.
    For audio CD tracks, the current track number and the elapsed playing time are displayed.
  4. Briefly press or once or several times to skip the beginning of the current, previous or subsequent track.
    The playback will continue with the selected track.
  5. During playback press and hold or buttons to find a specific passage whithin the track and release it at the point you want to listen to.
    When searching function is operated, playback continues at a low volume.
  6. Press button to stop the playback.
    The total number of tracks and the total playing time of an audio disc are displayed. The total number of albums and tracks of MP3/WMA-CD are displayed.
  7. To remove the disc, hold it by its edge and press the hub gently while lifting the disc.
  8. Press button again to switch off the player.

warning Note: The unit automatically switches off after 60 seconds, if it's paused or stopped and there's no button pressed.

Program and Modes

Creating your own playlist

You can store up to 20 tracks for CD and 99 tracks for MP3/WMA in a programmable playlist.

  1. While playback is stopped.
  2. Press PROG/MODE button to enter the programming mode.
    The "PROG" indicator will appear, along with the current programmable track number, e.g "P01" up to P20 or P99, depending on the disc.
    The track number of the CD will appear on the right.
  3. Select a track by pressing or , then press PROG/MODE again to store the track.
  4. Repeat step 2-3 to store all the desired tracks.
  5. Press to start the playback of your programmed tracks.
    The "PROG" indicator will appear on the display, and playback starts.
  6. To add additional tracks to your program, press to stop playback and continue with step 2-3.
  7. In stop mode you can review the programmed tracks by pressing or .

warning Note: If you try to store more tracks than the allowed the word "FULL" will show on the display.

Clearing the playlist

While playback is stopped, press to clear program.

warning Note: The program will also be cleared if the power supply is interrupted, the CD tray lid is opened, or if the set switches off automatically.

Playing mode

Press repeatedly PROG/MODE during playback to choose between:
. Play the current track repeatedly.
ALL. The entire disc is played repeatedly.
. The entire MP3 disc folder is played repeatedly.
. Plays the first 10 seconds of every track in the disc.
. All tracks of the disc are played randomly order once.

To cancel any of those modes, keep pressing PROG/MODE repeatedly until all the mode indicators disappear to return to normal playback.

ESP (Antishock)

The ESP (Electronic Shock Protection) function mode prevents loss of sound caused by minor vibrations and shocks, ensuring a continuous playback during 120 seconds. However it doesn't protect the unit against damage due to falling.
The ESP function mode is activated by default.

To turn off ESP function mode, just press the ESP button, and the "ESP" indicator on the screen will disappear.
To turn on the ESP function mode just press the ESP button again, to activate for 120 seconds and the "ESP" indicator will be shown again.

warning Note: ESP is always active during a MP3-CD playback.

Resume

You can interrupt the playback and continue from the position where you stopped it.

  1. Slide the OFF/RESUME/HOLD switch to RESUME position to activate the resume function.
    The "RESUME" indicator will appear on the screen.
  2. Press once whenever you want to stop the playback.
  3. Press to resume the playback.
  4. To deactivate the resume function, slide the OFF/RESUME/HOLD switch to OFF position. The "RESUME" indicator will disappear from the screen.

warning Note: If the CD tray lid is opened during a playback, the resume function will still remain active.

Hold

You can also lock all buttons of the set to prevent the execution of any function accidentally.

  1. Slide the OFF/RESUME/HOLD switch to HOLD position to activate the hold function.
    The "HOLD" indicator will appear on the screen.
  2. To deactivate the hold function, slide the OFF/RESUME/HOLD switch to RESUME or OFF position.
    The "HOLD" indicator will disappear from the screen.

Volume

Volume adjustment

Adjust the volume by turning the VOL knob.

Sound adjustment

Press HI VOL/X-BASS repeatedly to enable or disable the strong bass enhancement.
The "XBASS" indicator will appear or disappear from the display depending on their current state.

Hi volume adjustment

The player has a built-in option for establish a safe volume level, limiting hi volumes and ensuring a safe volume level during every moment while listening.
To enable or disable that option just press and hold theHI VOL/X-BASS button for two seconds, until "HI VOL" indicator appears or disappears on the display depending on their current state.

warning Note: Hi volume will be automatically cancelled after 20 hours of continuous listening.
It also can be cancelled if the CD compartment lid is opened.

Charging Function

This unit has a built-in charging batteries function that can fully recharge the specified rechargable batteries.

  1. Open the BATTERY COMPARTMENT and insert two rechargeable batteries matching the polarity marks. Batteries must be 1.2V min 1300mAh for Ni-MH type.
  2. Plug in the AC adaptor to the micro USB CHARGING PORT, and then slide the RECHARGE SWITCH on the back of the unit to ON position to start charging.
  3. After 16 hours. Please, unplug the AC adaptor and slide the RECHARGE SWITCH to the OFF position.
  4. The charging function will automatically turn off when batteries are fully charged.
    The CHARGING LED indicator will turn off.

warning Notes:

  • Both batteries must be of rechargeable Nickel-Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) type, otherwise batteries may explode or leak.
  • Do not charge coniuously for 24 hours or more.
  • Charging time may vary depending on the battery capacity.
  • You can play back discs while connected to the power or by charging the batteries.
  • When the batteries are about to run out, the low battery indicator will light up on the display.
