  • Page 9 OPERATION OF THE LOG SPLITTER Operate the log splitter from within the operation zone as shown in the diagrams below. The operator has the safest and most efficient access to the control valve and the beam in these locations. DANGER: FAILURE TO OPERATE THE LOG SPLITTER IN HIGHLIGHTED ORANGE POSITION BELOW CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.

    STEP 1: TANK AND ENGINE 1. Remove M8 x 1.25 x 45mm Hex Bolts (48) from the Tank Assembly. 2. Place Engine (52) on the Tank Assembly. 3. Secure Engine (52) on Tank Assembly in 4 places with M8 x 1.25 x 45mm Hex Bolts (48), M8 Flat Washer (49) and M8 x 1.25 Nylock Hex Nut (51).

    STEP 3: TONGUE Attach the Tongue & Stand Assembly to the Tank Assembly with M12 x 1.75 x 1.10mm Hex Bolt (70), M12 Flat Washer (16), M12 Lock Washer (11), and M12 x 1.75mm Hex Nut (10) in two places. Tighten securely using a 19mm Socket Wrench (I).

    STEP 5: BEAM 1. Rotate the Jack Stand attached to the side of the Tongue & Stand Assembly downwards into position by releasing the pin and then securing the release pin. 2. Remove the 1/8” R-Clip (47) and 5/8” x 6-1/4” Hitch Pin (46) from the assembled unit (as shown below).

    STEP 7: LOG CATCHER 1. Rotate the Integrated Beam (01) Down from upright position and lock in place with the release pin. 2. Install the Log Catcher Kit with M10 x 1.5 x 30mm Hex Bolts (76), M10 Flat Washers (19), M10 Lock Washers (78), and M10 x 1.5 Locking Hex Nuts (24) in 2 places.

    Refer to the SAE Viscosity Grades chart in your engine owner’s manual for average temperature ranges. The engine manufacturer recommends using API SERVICE category SE or SF oil. The engine oil capacity is 20oz. for the OPS227. Always check oil levels before starting engine and keep level full.
  • Page 26 Extend the cylinder until the log splits or to the end of its stroke. If the log has not completely split after the cylinder has reached the end of its extension, retract the cylinder. 26 | OPS227(Y) man.
  • Page 27 CAUTION: IMPORTANT Leaving the valve in the “ACTUATE” position at the end of the stroke may damage the pump. Always use extra care when splitting logs with unsquare ends. CAUTION: Store manuals in the Manual Canister attached to the tongue of the log splitter or file in a safe place for future reference.

    Le constructeur du moteur recommande d’utiliser la catégorie API SERVICE Huile SE ou SF. La capacité d’huile moteur est de 20 oz. Pour l’OPS227. Vérifiez toujours les niveaux d’huile avant de démarrer le moteur et maintenez le niveau plein.
  • Page 61 INSTRUCTIONS DE DÉMARRAGE REMARQUE : Reportez-vous au manuel du propriétaire du moteur pour obtenir des informations complètes sur le démarrage, entretien et dépannage. 1. Ouvrir le levier du robinet de carburant en position ON. 2. Pour démarrer un moteur froid, placez le levier de l’étrangleur (choke) en position CLOSE.
