Questions and answers
My stove keeps shutting down with a "Low temp" message and says to check hopper and burn ****. the hopper is full and the burn **** is clean of clinkers. Why is it doing this? thank you
The CASTLE Serenity stove may shut down with a "Low temp" message despite a full hopper and a clean burn pot due to a weak flame. Possible causes include:
1. Clogged Igniter Tube or Burn Pot – Ash buildup can block airflow, preventing proper ignition. Cleaning the fire pot and igniter tube may help.
2. Faulty Igniter – If the igniter is not generating enough heat, the stove may not maintain a strong flame. Testing the igniter in diagnostic mode and replacing it if necessary can resolve this.
3. Blocked Exhaust or Venting Issues – A clogged exhaust, such as a bird’s nest in the pipe, may prevent proper airflow. This can cause weak combustion and trigger the shutdown.
4. Incorrect Igniter Adjustment – If the igniter is not positioned correctly, it may not effectively ignite the pellets.
5. Lack of Negative Pressure – If the stove does not detect proper airflow, it may stop feeding pellets, leading to a low-temperature shutdown.
Checking and addressing these issues should help maintain proper operation.
