When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

  2. This appliance is not intended for use or by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they are closely supervised and instructed concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  3. This appliance shall not be used by children. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children.
  4. Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used near children. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  5. To protect against risk of electrical shock, do not put unit, cord, or plug in water or other liquid.
  6. Turn the appliance OFF , then unplug from outlet when not in use, before putting on or taking off parts and before cleaning. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.

  12. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  13. Check removable grinding chamber for presence of foreign objects before using.
  14. Do not use appliance for other than intended purpose.
  15. Do not attempt to defeat any interlock mechanism.
  16. Check that the appliance is OFF before plugging cord into wall outlet. To disconnect, turn the control to OFF ; then remove plug from wall outlet. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord.
  17. Do not remove hopper lid until grinder has completely stopped rotating.

This appliance is intended for household use only.

Electrical Shock Hazard
: This appliance is provided with a polarized plug (one wide blade) to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.
The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension cord may be used. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over. To avoid an electrical circuit overload, do not use another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit with this appliance.

Parts and Features

Using the Coffee Grinder

  1. Align arrow at top of Bean Hopper with unlock icon of Grinder. Turn counterclockwise to lock.
  2. Add coffee beans to Bean Hopper and place Bean Hopper Lid securely on top of Hopper.
  3. Align slot in Coffee Grounds Container Lid with Rib in Coffee Grounds Container and press down to secure Lid in place.
  4. Place empty Coffee Grounds Container on Grinder Base, aligning cutout of container with Base. Slide Coffee Grounds Container onto Base until it clicks into place. Failure to use an empty coffee grounds container may cause damage to the Coffee Grinder, rendering it inoperable.
  5. Turn Cup Selector Dial to desired amount, from 2 to 14 cups.
  6. Rotate Grind Setting Dial to desired grind, from coarse to fine.
  7. Plug into outlet. Press ON (l)/OFF button to grind beans. Grinder will automatically turn off at end of selected grind. Unplug.
  8. Pull Grounds Container straight out.
  9. Pour grounds into paper filter of coffee maker or into an airtight container for storage.

TIPS:

  • For best flavor, store coffee beans in an airtight container.
  • Grind beans immediately before brewing.
  • Grinding times will vary by amount and fineness setting.
  • To ensure optimal grinding performance, allow Coffee Grinder to cool for at least 1 minute between uses.
  • Coffee flavor and strength are personal preferences. Vary the type of coffee beans, amount of coffee, and fineness of grind to find the flavor you prefer.

Care and Cleaning


Electrical Shock Hazard. Disconnect power before cleaning. Do not immerse cord, plug, or base in any liquid.

  1. Unplug.
  2. Grinding Wheel should not be immersed in water. Use Cleaning Brush to remove any buildup.
  3. Wash Removable Bean Hopper Container with Lid and Removable Coffee Grounds Container with Lid in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry.
  4. Wipe the outside of Coffee Grinder with a soft, damp cloth. Wrap Cord around Cord Wrap on the bottom of Grinder to store.
  5. Clean Removable Grinding Wheel using a soft brush. Do not immerse in water or place in dishwasher.
  6. Use Cleaning Brush to clean around Grounds Outlet.

To Remove Bean Hopper Container and Grinding Wheel (not dishwasher-safe)

  1. Unplug.
  2. Bean Hopper Container should be empty of coffee beans before removing from Grinder or beans will spill onto counter. Turn Container clockwise to unlock, and lift it up.
  3. Turn Removable Grinding Wheel clockwise to unlock, and lift it up.
  4. Clean with a soft bristle brush.
  5. Place Grinding Wheel into center of Grinding Chamber. Turn counterclockwise to lock.

To Install Bean Hopper Container and Grinding Wheel (not dishwasher-safe)

  1. Unplug.
  2. Align arrow at top of Bean Hopper with unlock icon at top of grinder. Turn counterclockwise to lock.
  3. Place Grinding Wheel into center of Grinding Chamber. Turn counterclockwise to lock.

Troubleshooting

Grinder will not turn on

  • Make sure Bean Hopper Container with Lid and Grounds Container with Lid are in place.

Grinder will not grind coffee beans

  • Make sure Removable Grinding Wheel is in place. Grind is too fine.
  • Turn Grind Setting Dial counterclockwise to a coarser setting.

Coffee is too weak

  • Increase Cup Selector Dial amount for a stronger-tasting coffee.

ON/OFF button is flashing

  • Make sure Bean Hopper Container with Lid and Grounds Container with Lid are in place.
