    Never try to disassemble, repair, or remodel the toaster. There is a danger of fire or malfunction, which may cause injury. Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. If in need of repair, please contact Mueller customer service. Do not connect or disconnect the power plug with wet hands. This may result in electric shock.

    Do not unplug by pulling on the cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord. Wait for the toaster to cool down before moving. Carry only by the outer side panels. Never lift the toaster by placing your fingers inside or near the bread slot. It is important not to allow the crumbs to build up inside the toaster, as this may cause a fire hazard.

    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS FIRST USE When the toaster is plugged in and operating for the first time, there may be a slight burning odor as the heating elements warm up. This represents no danger to the user and does not indicate a defect in the appliance. To disperse the initial burning smell, operate the toaster twice (or until the odor disappears) on Browing Control Setting 1 with no bread.

    To start the toasting process, press down the Loading Lever until it locks into place. The Lever will not lock if the toaster is not plugged into a power source. NOTE: Toasting can be stopped at any time by pressing the CANCEL button. This will cancel the operation, and the Loading Lever will move to the raised position.

    Browning Control The browning control regulates to what degree the bread is toasted - in other words, the color of the toast. Lower settings produce lighter toast, and higher settings produce darker toast.
